Our B & B experience with "A Place In Time" was excellent. The innkeeper was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. She gave us several very good suggestions regarding restaurants and ensured that my wife, who had early morning classes to attend, had a great early breakfast (in our room) each morning. We will book there again when next we go to Fredericksburg. I highly recommend "A Place In Time" as a place to stay and enjoy.

The innkeeper Suzanne was very personable, polite, and informative. We met the property owner, and he was also very welcoming. Beautiful historic property...we were in the "Garden View" room which was an extension at the back of the property. This worked out very well as it was secluded and quiet. A very clean, well stocked room with all of the necessary comforts. More modern than the rest of the property, but this worked out to our benefit. Due to the extreme drought in the Texas Hill Country, there wasn't much garden to view, but the property is very well maintained and homey. Breakfasts were very good, and we purchased the Amaretto-peach-pecan jam which I highly recommend on just about everything. There is lots to do in Fredericksburg, and Suzzane was very good at suggesting dining, excursion, shopping and entertainment destinations. She also welcomed our feedback experiences to share with other and future guests. I would not recommend this vacation if you are looking for fast-paced, rather more suited to relaxing and enjoying the comforts....there is lots to do, so you could find yourself in a hurry to take it all in, but that's what multiple days stays and/or return trips are for, right?

Room Tip: If you like the early 1900s style with the modern comforts of home stay in the house. If you like s...

Walking in the B&B and felt comfortable from the first moment. It is a wonderful B&B with nice details everywhere in the house. Furniture are old style, I liked it very much!
Rooms are clean and the breakfast was very good. Not far away from the centre.

We had a great experience at A Place in Time! Jon and Mary Kaye were very attentive and hospitable. Everything was very clean. They made wonderful breakfasts and Jon had wonderful information to offer about the area. We will definitely return!

We stayed in the Garey Room at A Place in Time for a recent weekend trip to Fredericksburg. We arrived later than their usual check-in time and picked up the keys to our room, which has a separate entrance on the porch. The first things we noticed were the lovely, inviting living room, and the snacks left out for guests (delicious cookies and small Luna bars, as well as hot water for tea). The Garey room has a number of charming details, such as old "family" pictures in frames, doilies, and cute framed antique valentines as wall decoration. The bathroom is a nice size. However, it's located right off of the main dining room, so in the morning you definitely feel like everyone out there can hear you.

The room itself is very small and not very private. It holds a queen-sized bed, dresser and vanity, and the television and small fridge are located in the closet, out of necessity. The bedroom is also located right off of the dining room/hall area, so it just felt at times like everyone in the house could hear us. Its two windows look out onto the porch, so if there is anyone out there, again it feels like they're in your room.

The breakfasts were very good and Suzanne, our hostess, was very helpful. For some reason I thought we would have access to the garden or to a yard in the back of the house but this was never mentioned, and I got the impression that it was private. It's about 6 blocks from Main Street I think, but it isn't a very walkable distance--there aren't sidewalks for the first few blocks and it's not a scenic walk. You will probably be driving to Main Street. The Nest restaurant is right across the street and we had a great dinner there.

Overall we had a good experience but were a little disappointed with our room, and with the distance from Main Street. I would recommend choosing a different room if at all possible. The Garey Room costs the same as the Blue Room, but from what I could tell, that one is far superior.

Room Tip: Avoid the Garey Room, it's too small.

We stayed in the Blue Room; it was large, comfortable and well appointed. The bath room was huge too. Breakfast was excellent. It was prepared by Suzanne, and she earned our praise for the superb egg casserole, and real 'home-fried' potatoes. Jon, the innkeeper, was the perfect host.

A place In Time merits a return visit.

First time and will go back!! Period furniture, soft and luxurious bedding (I slept longer than I ever do at home), bountiful and delicious breakfasts. Sitting in the sun room and on the porch takes you back in the time, and gives you time to read, relax, listen and watch the birds. Friendly and informative staff -- you'll want to give this one a try!!!

Room Tip: Stay upstairs for more room and the sun room!
