“The Cat's Meow B&B really is the cat's meow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2008

We were overwhelmed by the number of B&Bs available in and around Fredericksburg but in the end, narrowed our criteria to something very nice (at the upper end of our price range but we splurged since we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary) and a little bit out of town. Our cabin (Calico) was plain on the outside but luxurious on the inside; exquisitely decorated with a combination of old and new for a warm and welcoming feel. It was our little home-away-from-home for three days and it was wonderful to come back to after our daily excursions. What appealed to us most were the open floor plan, unique architectural details (the owners did most of the work and all of the decorating and it definitely had a sense of the pride and pleasure that they had put into it), and most of all, the magnificent jacuzzi tub in one corner of the bedroom. Everything from the Nautica towels to the breakfast pastries they provided from Rather Sweet Bakery in town was first class. The owners were friendly, attentive to our needs, and always available but otherwise practically invisible, which suited us perfectly. Breakfast was put in our fridge every day while we were gone and it was fun to come "home" and see what goodies were on the menu for the next morning. We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely consider going back.

My husband and I stayed in the Cat's Cradle room and it was very romantic. The tub was great and breakfast was just enough. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

this is a wonderful property for a private get away. the cabin was wonderfully appointed with romantic, yet comfortable furnishings. you feel like you are a million miles away from everything and everyone. everything you need for your stay is furnished including emergency toilitries, and a first aid kit!!!! we would definately recommend this wonderful place for a romantic get-away or just a place to get away for a while.

Our stay at the "Cats Cradle" was excellent. My wife is a cat lover, and I am an amature astronomer. They have an excellent dark sky location for viewing the night sky. We intend to do it again.

Cat's Meow Bed and Breakfast is 10 minutes from downtown Fredericksburg. It is a very quiet and peaceful place. The hosts were very courteous to us when we arrived and they made sure we had everything we needed. We stayed at the Cat's Cradle which is on the second floor with our privacy. The balcony overlooks a peaceful sanctuary with deers, squirrels and cows. The owner's cat visited us when we enjoyed the sunset on the balcony. The room is very clean and the decor are gorgeous. Continental breakfast was very good and filling. I will definitely recommend it. - Joe F.

This is such a cozy, quiet place. Beautiful decor, lots of privacy; just what we needed for a peaceful getaway. If you are looking for a nice place to relax with the one you love, and don't mind the gentle "meows" from the 2 cats that live outdoors on the property, you will love Cat's Meow...we stayed at the Catnip Cabin--the whirlpool is so romantic & relaxing too-you can dim the lights and enjoy!!

Is outside of town, but only by about 6 miles-straight drive. Very quiet place with lots of privacy. Enjoyed the decor. Stayed in the Cat's Cradle. Didn't remember until I got there that there was only a whirlpool tub. Continental breakfast was included, but it was light fare for only two people. First morning was about 10 grapes each and one small sausage roll and half an apple crescent roll. OJ for only a small glass for each person. Would like to have had bottled water in fridge. But oh well. Food wasn't bad, just not filling. Was reasonably priced for what we got and we had a good time. The owners seemed nice.
