Lovely herb garden. Spacious rooms. Great breakfasts. Gift shop has a variety of items at various price ranges. Rosemary is a treasure. Be sure to check with her for local advise on what to see. Fredricksburg Brewery has great beer and good.

We have dined all over Europe and America and we can say without hestiation that our experience here was phenomenal. We enjoyed immensely our dining experience which was greatly enhanced by the best server we have encountered in all of our travels. Tiffany was charming, gracious, very familiar with the menu, and knew every ingredient that went into the menu selections. She was unobtrusive and very welcome every time we saw her. Tiffany is experienced in fine dining as evidenced by her ability to serve us. I have a PH.D. in Food Microbiology and Food Management and I have trained hundreds of staff, but not one person will beat the scale that Tiffany has set. I might also add that the restaurant met every criteria for cleanliness as did the service. Tiffany was just great and she made our dining experience a wonderful event.

My wife and I stayed at the Herb Farm over Spring Break 2013 and we could not have enjoyed ourselves any better. We were celerbrating our 40th anniversary and it was the perfect place to do it. Our children contacted the staff and staff went above and beyond (special thanks to Doris and Ian) to surprise us with gifts and wine/cheese tray. Ate is resturant and service was excellent and food was great...also had great massage to take away the stress of living in the DFW metroplex. Cabins were well maintained. We have come to Herb Farm for years and have loved to eat at resturant, but first time to stay there. We will continue to come back....thanks to Rosemary and her staff for great week.....

We have been customers of Fredericksburg Herb Farm for over 15 years. We loved taking our family and our friends here over the years. We have enjoyed many of the changes, and the growth. We were a bit saddened that gardens were taken down and a spa and cabins put in their place, but after a couple of years, we decided to go ahead and treat ourselves to a get-a-way...just the 2 of us...and give the cabins a chance. The cabins are cute and comfy. We were disappointed in that our though others commented on the goodies in the fridge, ours had none. They were out of croissants for breakfasts, so they gave us leftover quiche to heat up in the microwave. Not good. It was not tasty and definitely not a breakfast type of quiche. From an herb farm, you would expect something real, something healthy..maybe even herb teas, too, or something..anything.We were also amazed that every move we made out there was watched by the staff. As I was walking to my car to put my luggage back, I walked across the grass and was corrected by a staff member to walk on the walk and around a bit to get to the parking lot and back to my car. Come on..this is buffalo grass you have planted, and it can take foot traffic. At check in, they told me again and again to NOT lose my key... or they would have to come out there late at night and let us back in our room. There are signs up for HUGE fees if caught smoking. Why not just say..""no smoking" like all the other Inns do. It sounds more pleasant. Don't threaten us. I am not even a smoker, but gee... Less Herb Farm, more commercial. Talkative staff, but intrusive and less friendly. Not the same, not the same quaint herb farm that we came to love, and now, will probably not return.

Kelly A, Manager at Fredericksburg Herb Farm - Sunday Haus Cottages, responded to this review, March 19, 2013
We truly do wish for all of our guests to completely enjoy their stay with us, which is why we offer our overnight guests lots of complimentary perks. It is also why we have a completely non-smoking property - it is posted in each room that there is a $300 fee for breaking this policy. This fee is standard in many hotels and B&Bs and we do so to guarantee all of our guests the completely smoke free environment that we advertise.

Our cottage guests receive a complimentary hot breakfast Tuesday - Sunday morning and when the restaurant is closed on Mondays the guests receive complimentary breakfast items delivered to their room on Sunday afternoon - sometimes cinnamon rolls, sometimes quiche, sometimes pastries - but always fresh baked that day. Our cottages all offer keurig coffee pots with a variety of hot beverage options to enjoy, as well as bottled water and juices in the fridge. If any of these items were mistakenly not put in your room, we sincerely apologize and wish that you would have brought this to our attention when you were on property so we could have immediately delivered them to your cottage.

Our garden and maintenance staff all work very hard to keep our grounds in tip top shape. We hope that you can understand that we provide the crushed gravel pathways throughout the property in order to keep our grounds looking fresh. The reminders about keeping track of your key is simply for your convenience and we apologize if it was perceived in any other way. We strive to provide superb, friendly customer service; if that is ever not the case please speak to a manager so that we can address the issue immediately.

The Farm was bought out of bankruptcy as it was before and without the many renovations it would have ceased to exist all together. We think that the Farm is an important part of Fredericksburg's history and we wanted to make it so that it would be around for people to enjoy for years to come. Yes, we do now have 14 cottages on property, a destination spa, a fine dining restaurant and gift shop but we also still have several wonderful gardens of herbs, vegetables, and flowers for our guests to enjoy.

We appreciate your input and will use it to improve.

My husband and I just got back from a romantic week-end in Fredericksburg to celebrate our 33ed anniversary. The Herb Farm was just perfect for what we were looking for-peaceful, quiet and out of the way. Our Sunday House had everything you could need or want! Herbal products in the bath, just the right size with a large fluffy bed. We had four meals there, dinner the first night was superb as was their brunch on Sunday morning. We had spa treatments on Sat. followed by a delicious lunch. We walked both Sat. and Sunday mornings in the quiet neighborhood next to their property. The staff is fabulous and the owner Rosemary could not have been more helpful. We loved that it was both no smoking and no pets!! We will go again for sure!

Room Tip: Any of the Sunday Houses are fine but I would ask for one with a porch swing. Ours was #1 and was ri...

The service is great because they have focused on couples only, so they aren't also trying to accommodate families, business travelers, or couch surfers. There are 12 cottages, no children allowed, and only 2 guests per cottage. So even when the place is booked it doesn't feel busy. It is 4 blocks off Main street so there is zero road noise. Being from Houston where there is always noise I greatly appreciated the quiet. The restaurant is very good and your room comes with free breakfast. The cottage is was clean and well kept. Being located in the Texas wine country they have wine glasses and corkscrew. They also have good coffee in the room. They have complementary bottle water and orange juice in your room.

Your own private cottage in a wonderful setting. Working windmill, herb garden, bar, restaurant, spa, fire pit in the evening to set and enjoy wine and friendship. Just a few short blocks to downtown and a great location to tour other locations in and around Fredricksburg.
The staff was awsome and extremely attentive Reminded me of how things use to be, just down home friendly,
The breakfast was out of this world, do not miss out on Rosemary's French Toast.
We truly enjoyed our visit and will go again. Must have the French Toast again!
