“Pleasantly surprised”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

For a chain hotel, I was impressed. Very clean, true Texan decor, friendly staff. The continental breakfast had the usual food plus eggs, sausage and waffles. We stayed 2 nights. They were having a pool problem though. It was green and closed during our stay. All in all, I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Our room was on the first floor, overlooking the pool. It was quiet because the pool was closed...

This Best Western is in the Plus category of this chain, which means it offers a few extras, such as an enhanced breakfast. It is indeed a cut above the ordinary BW.

My wife and I spent two nights at this location. Our room was located on the second floor, across from the elevator and the ice machine. We never heard a sound from the machines, from fellow guests (the BW was nearly sold out each night) or from the road. The BW was clean, the staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast quite satisfying. (The breakfast was especially exceptional in that it featured orange juice, rather than the orange flavored drink called orange juice offered at many comparable lodging chains.)This BW is perfect for the traveller who wants a quiet place to sleep at an affordable price. We'll stay here the next time we are in Fredericksburg.
This BW is not for the traveller who wants a full service hotel complete with restaurant, fitness center and valet parking.

One minor negative point about this BW. The TV quality is acceptable, but not really the best.

Patti at check in was great. Spent two nights there with my in-laws, breakfast was well attended, plenty of space and a good variety of breakfast foods. Rooms were well kept, very nice furnishings. Nice TV, only not an HD image...shame. Felt very secure and safe. Just a few minutes from Main Street and some great German foods. Loved my time in Fredericksburg, stay here folks, you'll love it too.

We were on a commercial shoot in the area and needed to crash here last minute. It was the first Best Western i'd ever stayed in but i have to say i was really impressed. Traveling on a corporate budget you get pretty spoiled staying in really nice hotels so i have to admit when i heard were were staying at the best western i was a little suspect. This place was very clean, have very nice rooms and a great staff. We checked in at 1am and the woman at the counter was really cheerful considering the time. Was especially impressed with the bathrooms too, which they've made a clear effort at making feel more high end. Would recommend this to anyone traveling through the area with high standards who's afraid of winding up in a bad hotel on the road.

Spent two nights. Close to downtown but still needed to drive. We were traveling with our dog.
Our "dog friendly" room was SPOTLESS! They wash all the linens, blankets and spreads,
after each guest leaves. They even provided a "welcome-dog" box: bottled water, a small bag of food, a treat, and, of course, a poop bag. We needed to provide a place for our dog to stay while sight-seeing and didn't want to leave her in the room (which the hotel discourages). They recommended a doggie day-care (Paws and Claws) down the road. Paws and Claws was excellent. Our dog had an inside/outside run and even a bath.
After a day on the road our room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable.
The room had a couch and coffee table in addition to a desk. The breakfast was yummy complete with tortillas, salsa, and grated cheese.

The hotel's location is great. It's a short drive to Main St., but it's also far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. We found the front desk staff very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Room was very clean. It's a great base to both visit the Main St. area and the surrounding wineries.

The motel is located about a block off a main road. So, it is quiet. The staff at the front desk was friendly. We stayed here the one night we were in Fredericksburg on our visit to Texas. The king bed was comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep. The price for the room was reasonable and a little less then some of the other motels in town. The room was clean, but the décor of the room was dark, drab and dated. We saw two Texas size bugs in the hallway near our room, but did not encounter any critters in our room. The bathroom was nice, and the shower had good water pressure. The food at the free breakfast buffet was fair, and somewhat limited in choices the day we were there. Overall this is an ok place to stay.
