Wish a "Good" rating existing. Hilda's was better than average, but not very good in all aspects. Our server was attentive and entrees were good, but not remarkable. Salsa, however, was very good with a late heat kick. Salsa is served in squeeze bottles with individual bowls - nice touch. Usual offerings, plus seafood and several creative dishes, like potato tacos which sounded unique and good, but did not deliver. The three tacos were greasy and lacked flavor. I ate only one. The rice was clean, but a little bland. This was offset by the tasty charro beans. Very fresh, crisp lettuce and flavorful shredded cheese. Would have ordered fish tacos, except they are made with talapia - at least they print this on the menu so diners do not have to ask. Avoided the shrimp tacos for the same imported reason. Taco salad was good - a reasonable size for lunch - again topped with that good lettuce and cheese. Would try Hilda's again if we were on that side of town. Next order would be the relleno - that would be the test for me. Dining room is pleasant and clean. Gets very busy and a little loud at lunch.
