“Food lukewarm”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

We had our main meal of the day here today about 1:30 p.m. and I was so looking forward to some good German fare. The place was busy, but not overly crowded and we were seated right away. I ordered a glass of the house chardonnay and our waitress suggested, I might prefer a more expensive glass of wine. We both opted for the beer samplers instead, which we both enjoyed. We ordered the Sausage Sampler and the Schinken Schnitzel. The latter was lukewarm, very thin, very dry and seemed to have been reheated several times prior to serving. The menu also says it is served with a Dijon Cream sauce, when in fact, it came with a brown gravy poured over it - which still did not help the dryness. The sides for the two dinner plates were German Potato Salad, red cabbage, onion rings and beer battered fries. All of the sides were tasty but also lukewarm in spite of the fact that the food came promptly to our table, not long after ordering. One would have thought it would have been made fresh and served hot. Our waitress was apologetic when we told her and offered to take the plates back, but I feared they would just be re-heated one more time in a microwave and the food would be less palatable. Don't waste your money - go somewhere else. We would not return to this restaurant as there are too many other choices for good German food in the area.

“Great Beer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

They have great beer, good eats and you can see the huge beer kettles in the main room, where they brew all their own beer. During the weekends their Biergarten is open and you can sit at the long tables and try all the beers. During the winter they have their fireplace going in the dining room and it is a welcome feeling on chilly days spent wandering town on foot.

“Good Beer & Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

They brew 3,000 gallons a month and we tried three of their current selection. Enjoyed the Enchanted Rock Red the most but all were good. Reasonably priced and located on main street in the heart of everything.

“Food not that good!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Nice brewery with lots of beer. Very crowded although we got a table right away. Waitstaff friendly but the food not that great. I got a jäger schnitzel, it was very, very dry even with the gravy on it. Was also only about 1/8" thick or rather thin!

“Good beer, average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

Recently had dinner on a Saturday night. After a 40 minute wait, we were seated in the noisy dining room. Sausage sampler plate was good, but the sides (kraut and German potato salad) were bland. Craft beer is the highlight of the evening.
