“wonderful hotel with personality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2011

Some hotels are just nice, some are special. That's the feeling when you get to the hilton fort worth. Maybe it's the pictures of Kennedy who stayed there the night before his assassination, maybe it is the old fashion feeling or the surrounding. But this hilton is really nice. Wonderful room with super mattress. Large bathroom, huge TV flat screen. Location is perfect in front of the convention center and walking to downtown restaurants. Great service. Breakfast was good, not special (there is a starbucks right there if you want). Some rooms are looking into the inner courtyard, they may give you a feeling of darkness. High floors should be better. Price was a great deal, that's my main reason for the 5 stars.

Room Tip: high floors

Nice folks, clean room, and great restaurant. What is cool is that there is a tram that can take you through the entire downtown area; being a Texan, downtown areas are few and far between. This one is nice....and there are loads of locals that seem to enjoy it as well. Great place to visit!

Walking distance to all public transport. Rooms were spacious and clean. Service was readily available at all times. Restaurants were of good quality.

This hotel is convienently located from the transportation centre. We arrived there from the airport and was pleased to find the hotel so near. We also used the bus service from here to the Stockyards, which was ideal for us.

We did not realise the historical nature of the hotel until we arrived. It is very close to the Convention Centre and our room overlooked this.

The room itself was a standard Hilton room, nothing extraordinary but functional. This was great for us as we spent most of our time out and about in Fort Worth. There is also a Starbucks within the hotel if needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, greeting us with a cheery hello each time we passed. That was a nice touch, which is not always found within this hotel chain.

We did not partake in the breakfast at the hotel but there are other places nearby where you can get a variety of breakfast options.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay and the hotel served our purposes of having somewhere to lay our heads whilst sightseeing. A functional hotel room, with air conditioning, clean room and clean bathroom.

My wife and I spent 7 nights in the hotel. The first room we were given - on the 15th floor - was a miserable box-shaped room, dominated by the huge bed. There was a desk and bad office chair; no easy chair, no coffee table or side table, and the closet missed a door. It was also half the size it should have been; the other half was occupied by a service shaft. The drapes were so dusty they caused me to sneeze. Dirty carpet in need of a vacuum, dust in the corners and coffee splatters on the wall. I asked of a different room within 10 minutes of arrival and after much back and forth we were given one the next day. The manager also gave us a free breakfast buffet to make up for the inconvenience. The new room was better - at least it had an easy chair and an ottoman. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the hotel has an imposing foyer and it is very well situated. It would be outstanding as a 3-star hotel, but not a 5-star, which is what I would expect from a Hilton such as this one.

Room Tip: If you are given Room 1503, ask to inspect it before you accept it.

This hotel is only two or three blocks from the transportation center. You can walk to this hotel from Amtrak, you can take a commuter train to Dallas or to a shuttle connection that goes to DFW airport, you can catch a city bus or a trolley. Bus number 1 takes you to the stockyards, bus number 2 takes you to the art museums. Here, you are right downtown Ft. Worth, with restaurants and nightlife. (There is a great tex-mex place just a walk up the road called Mi Cocina). We loved this location and did everything in Ft. Worth without a car. Also, the staff at the hotel were great and the hotel had a nice, vintage feel. The folk at the conceirge desk were great, as was the server in the restaurant at breakfast.
