“Fantastic Staff and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Todd, Priscilla, Griselda, to name a few make the difference. Check in
to check out, remembering your name, generous smiles and genuine
help if you need it. And a very well kept and well located property as well! A solid recommend.

Room Tip: East rooms a bit quieter

This hotel is great with the friendliest staff. Tiffany and Aisha are extremely nice and very helpful along with the rest of the staff. However there is this worker named Todd who is extremely obnoxious and feels that being a front desk person means he controls the power of the hotel. Guy has power tripping issues and loves the control aspect of his job. Lighten up buddy and try to make peoples stay an enjoyable one. Todd's personality is that of a wet toilet seat.....Watch out when using the free washer and dryer in this place. The free dryers can damage your clothes because they have heating issues. Overall a nice place to stay and a friendly staff, except for the night watchman Todd.

It was all I could ask for; clean and everything worked. No pretense.
Nearly 60% of their rooms are used for American Airlines pilot training, giving it a mature and classier dorm vibe.
They were very helpful with transportation. It was very convenient for a meeting at American's headquarters. I'd do it again.

For the price and location, you cannot beat this hotel. It's very convenient to DFW Airport, which puts you smack dab in the middle of the DFW Metroplex. The rooms and public areas are always very clean, the parking lot has good lighting, and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are pretty basic, but the beds are comfortable. Also, each of the rooms has a kitchenette. It's enough to make whatever you need, as long as you aren't cooking for Thanksgiving.

I've stayed at this property countless times over the past year. The staff is as friendly as any I've encountered in my 25 years on the road. I would like to call out Priscilla, Tiffany, Griselda and Dan in particular! They have become my family away from home, and I thank them for making me feel welcome every time I show up.

This is one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed at. It has always bothered me that hotels focus so much attention on the lobby, only to send you up to a sub-standard room. Not so here. The rooms are fresh, usually spotless, and always inviting. I have continued to return, paying a bit more than the other available options, because the value is definitely there. In other words--you do get what you pay for here!

There are plenty of food/beverage options within walking distance, including the sister property Holiday Inn. Midori Sushi, Starbucks, Buffalo Cantina and others are all right there.

The only downside I have is the laundry room, which consistently has several broken washers and dryers. I was pleasantly surprised that three washers were recently replaced, but there is still work to be done here.

All in all, a great property, great people, and a great value.

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms for quiet and morning sun. Odd numbered rooms for great afternoon sun, but face...

This location is great for an extended stay because besides having kitchens there is so much to walk to from restaurants to the 7/11. The hotel itself looks brand new....they are always cleaning. The rooms are spotless and if you've ever stayed at a Candlewood you know they only have queen beds, but they are comfortable and having the suite gives you that extra room and apartment feel. The staff is incredible. Very helpful and kind.

On the downside, it didn't really bother us, but the planes fly over constantly, and pretty low, as they are landing. At night when it's dark you can see them circling around the hotel....we thought it was cool! Also, if you have ever read my reviews....I do smoke....but I don't smoke in my room, so I would go out front to sit on the benches they have....it seems every time I was out there a shuttle from the airport would show up and pull up right in front of me, the exhausted was overwhelming and you can't sit there. The shuttles come on the hour, as the hotel told me that they have a contract with the airlines so pilots and trainees stay at the hotel. Anyway, I got several headaches after sitting there. I always moved, but I need to quit smoking anyway.

Overall, this hotel is A + in my book. We have to make a trip back in March and will try and book our stay there again.

Room Tip: If you like the first floor stay away from the rooms near housekeeping, we had to move because the h...

This is the second time I have stayed for a period of 4 weeks at the hotel. Rooms and hotel property kept very clean. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. Just some of these employees were at the Font Desk-Priscilla, Griselda, and Daniel. Also, the two maintenance men, Jose and Cruz would always say hello or help me when I was bringing things in or out.
The owners of the Candlewood should be very proud of the team they have working for them and their customers.
