“Very friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2011

The hotel has that airport look and needs to be renovated but the beds are newer and comfy. The staff is very friendly and they offer a free coffee bar. Overall it was a great stay and value!

This hotel had the most incompetent staff at a full service hotel where I can ever remember staying. I had requested early check in, which wasn’t available, which was fine, except that regular check in wasn’t available either. We were in Dallas for the LSU Oregon game and regular check in was at 3 pm. We, along with several other couples, were told that our rooms were not available, and that we needed to wait in the Lobby until the rooms were cleaned, with no estimated time. The manager then told us the reason for this was that a busload of people showed up that morning without reservations and were allowed to check in early, because he didn’t want them to have to wait all day for their rooms.

Since it was after 3 pm and the game was scheduled to start at 6, we decided to change clothes and go over to the stadium, and my female companion had to change in the Lobby Bathroom because the staff had not thought ahead enough to allow the women to change in a guest room with some privacy.

I went to get her a glass of wine for when she came back out, and I had to take back the glass three times due to lipstick on the rim.

The hotel finally called me at 5:50 pm to let me know my room was ready. Completely rediculous.

Jeremy B, General Manager at DFW Airport Marriott South, responded to this review, September 19, 2011
The weekend of the LSU/ Oregon Football game was an unusual circumstance for us. We hosted the Oregon team and when the time of the game was announced to be 7pm the team did not checkout until 3pm. We did not know when the game would be televised until a few weeks before the game.
We were unable to get into the rooms until 3pm and were able to get everyone checked in by 6pm.

We know that this is not what our Marriott guests expect and we were extremly dissapointed that we were unable to provide the level of service we pride ourselves on.

Please accept my deepest apologies, and feel free to contact me at the hotel to discuss further.

Very nice property in a business park by DFW. But what I notice is the service level. Front desk staff is like a Ritz Carlton. At check in step from behind the desk to acquaint you with the hotel and direct you to elevators. Very friendly. It has to be management at this hotel that is setting the tone. Nice work.

I am an instructor for a very large company and we were trying multiple hotels in the DFW area. Once we tried this hotel we quit trying and signed up for classes to be held here for approx 2 weeks a month for the rest of the year and into next year. Kevin, the banquet manager took care of all my needs even the unique ones like freezing the class room. Alfonso, our server, did a great job and made sure the room stayed spotless Which is hard to do with grown adults. Tiffany, our sales rep, made sure that everything was in order the way I needed it and checked in throughout the week. Candi, the sales admin, was fantastic going above and beyond by becoming my personal assistant and faxing and copying multiple docs(thank you again). And Jeremy, the GM, was always out roaming around making sure everyone was being taken care of.

Great job to everyone and I look forward to seeing you all again in a few weeks

Having stayed at this hotel in the past and having no issues I was shocked and offended by their treatment this weekend. My friends and I had a two night reservation that was made months in advance. We were going to have 3 people in the room so naturally we requested 2 beds. There was no mention of any issues with that request at the time of reservation. A call was made to the hotel a week before our stay to confirm a second night was in place and still no mention of issues with our reservations. We arrive at the hotel on a Sat afternoon and were told the hotel was sold out, and they could not honor 2 beds...nevermind we had reservations way in advance. We calmly explained that our reservation was for 3 people and it would be impossible for us to all share one bed. The desk clerk then said she could offer us extra pillows so someone could sleep on the floor (seriously). We again explained we had these reservations for 3 people for some time and no one ever mentioned any issues with not being able to honor our needs. This was to be an extremely busy weekend in Dallas/Arlington so we asked for two rooms since we were in a huge bind now. We were told nothing was avail and that all Marriott hotels were totally sold out in all surrounding areas. During this whole time the desk clerk was extremely rude and could not care less about this messed up situation. I asked for the manager and was told she was the manager. I explained to her we had even called earlier in the week to confirm a second night was in place and were not advised of any problems. She didnt care and offered nothing in exchange for their obvious screwup. After a few phone calls we discovered that they had lied to us about another Marriott property having rooms. We were able to secure a room at the Marriott North location about 15 mins away which was not only nicer, but the staff was 100X more friendly and understanding. The Marriott North location will never have our business again, and we will be filing a complain with corp about their so called "manager" of that location. Even the North location was shocked at what we told them had happened

From the shuttle driver to those working the front desk everyone went above and beyond to make my stay very comfortable. It felt like I was staying at a luxury hotel for a reasonable price!

On labor day, not very busy, was allowed to check in early, thank you. Though the staff was few, they were pleasant and helpful. Hotel lobby was clean and orderly, Breakfest staff was warm, sincere, and pleasant. Her name was cecila, warm smile, sincere appreaciation for the business. We related stories of mutual Interests, and the whole morning started off well, even though it was raining. I have been told there is new management for the hotel, Shae (female) was helpful with my reservation. This hotel is in the middle of everywhere, so you will not go hungry, within minutes of nightlife in the area. If you get a chance to visit the hotel, ask for Brandon, one of the agents at the front desk. He will make you feel at home, and provide suggestions on what to do in the area, you cannot go wrong with him. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
