“visit here when one person wants breakfast and one person wants lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

My husband and I enjoyed our brunch/lunch very much at the Cowtown Diner. The service was exceptional and the restaurant was impeccably clean and nice for being referred to as a diner.

“Go for the service but definitely NOT for the food!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Received wonderful greetings with a smile which led us to believe we were going to also receive good food, but we did not. Unfortunately, we were in downtown Fort Worth for a short time and were hungry, so had no time to read restaurant reviews beforehand.

One ordered a burger and fries, requesting sweet potato fries rather than steak fries, but, guess what? Steak fries were served with the burger instead. Not a really busy time which means yet again kitchen and wait staff paying no attention to their orders. Even if the cook didn't catch it shouldn't the server have seen it? But no, this is what we run into time and again in so many places these days. Total oblivion. The burger was so dry after one bite that when the manager stopped by to ask how things were it was mentioned. He immediately took the plate and offered to cook another burger, which was a very kind gesture and he was taking the necessary steps to keep his customers happy. Yes, it was better than the first, but certainly not great.

The other person ordered chicken fried steak, a huge portion served with gravy, a small mound of mashed potatoes and a few veggies. Again, rather dry and not at all that tasty. Two entrees, two coffees and the bill was close to $27.00 minus a tip. Not worth the time and money folks.

“Cowboy Eclectic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013 via mobile

Restaurant was a cool mix of just a diner with something a little more. Service was disjointed at best. We had crab cake appetizer, trout, and chicken fried steak. Food was good but brought mashed potatoes instead of rice pilaf with the trout. The server never came back to check on order. The server blamed the kitchen since they had just changed the menu... Stated not the first time this had happened....hmmmm think she would verify before serving to us.

“Awful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

The menus were sticky/dirty. Table was rickety. Waitress was clueless. Wine ordered from wine list was not available. Substitute wine was good but not served properly. Soup special was awful. After waiting thirty minutes for entrees, we paid for the wine and left. This is a terrible restaurant, and we will not be back.
