“Delightful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

The menu is always inventive and delicious. Of course, you can't beat the view overlooking the reflecting pool at the Modern. Whenever my mother is in town, we always make sure to stop here after an afternoon at the museums. It's perfect for a ladies lunch, or a fun bite when you're out and about.

“Special Treat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

This is a restaurant for my special occasions. Went with dear friends this time. The food is always excellent and the service is without flaw. Love the tables by the windows and right on the reflecting pool.

“Great brunch spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

The brunch at Cafe Modern is great. The food was stellar--I would recommend anything from the Benedict family :-). The ambiance is nice--you have a view of the fancy pond (lake?) behind the museum. The service was on point and the Bloody Mary I had was the perfect hair of the dog. I wouldn't say it's fancy, but you might want to wear something business casual (or at least don't wear your flip-flops). Like the other reviews, it's not a cheap breakfast, but what do you expect? It's in the art museum! Well worth the price for the experience and I would eat there again.

“It's good, but VERY expensive.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

It's a good high class place, but the food is overpriced, even for a fine restaurant. It's location in the modern musuem area is correctly placed, with its minimalist atmosphere and refelctive pool. Go if you enjoy fine dining and don't mind overpaying for it.

“Worth a special trip for lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

What a surprise to find such creative food, and attentive service in a museum. I've been here at leastthree times, and have been pleasantly surprised each time. They have comfort food in the form of homemade tomatoe soup with grilled cheese sandwich (with 5 gourmet cheeses, thank you), interesting quiches, sandwiches, and interesting takes on other mainstays. their wine list is well selected for theirmenu, and plenty of wines by the glass.

The dining room opens onto a pool of water, with the main museum buildig just opposite, givingit a truly serene setting. Well done!
