A great collection of parts of history in Fort Worth and her memories. Museum staff is very knowledgeable and are a living history.

“Interesting Glimpse into the Past”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

The Stockyards Museum, located in what once was the Fort Worth Stockyards building provides an intriguing look into the past of Fort Worth. The 2nd longest burning light bulb (105 years!) and the bad luck wedding dress are worth the stop.

“Great museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2014

It maybe small but it is packed with interesting artifacts and information on old Stockyards and the cattle industry. There are a few quirky things such as the chair made entirely out of horns and the Bad Luck Wedding Dress - doom and gloom came to any bride that wore it. Nowadays it is on display in this museum. There are interesting old photographs and the volunteer staff are very friendly and helpful. It is only $2 to get in and closed on Sundays. Nice little shop as well. The best part of Stockyards District for me.

“Great Family Fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

We went in Feburary for Valetines weekend and had a blast. We only stayed one day but I would reccomend staying over night and spending two days here. Lots of places to eat and lots of fun things to see and do. Love the long horn steers they have for people to have their pictures sitting on. It cost $5 but worth the price. They are beautiful animals! Also lots of variety stores and some pricey ones too. Wear comfortable walking shoes! Love this place and want to go back in warmer weather.

“Stockyard Museum and Historical Society”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

$2/person. Spent over an hour here. Lots of exhibits. The curators are so friendly and went above and beyond their duty to entertain us. We were looking for some family history of early migration via wagon trails from the east. Even though we couldn't find any records, the museum was great and the hospitality even greater. Thanks. There is also free parking at the end of E. Exchange Ave (just a short walk). If you want to pay for parking you can park closer to the museum for $5.
