Etta's place is an attractive idea if you want to get away from the large run of the mill hotels and stay in Sundance Square. Review the pros and cons, based on the con list, I would not stay again.
Pros:
B&B, small botique feel.
Nice breakfast each morning
Kingsize Bed
Room was clean & large, decor was good.
Fullsize kitchen in Sundance Suite
Large HD TV w/ DVD player
Location...location...location - located directly in Sundance Square within walking distance to shops, restaurants and nightlife. Note: There are quite a few other larger hotels you can stay in for less money that are 1/2-1 block further away.
Cons:
Lacking in service - we payed $500 for a 2 night package, made two requests and they were unwilling to fulfill either. They were not accomodating at all which is surprising as you would think a B&B would cater to it's clientele more than a large chain.
Rooms with a view - beware. We stayed in the Sundance Suite -101. It is next to the elevator & on the 1st floor so you hear the beeping of the elevator often (it's the main floor for dining and the library). *The room directly faces the street so you hear EVERYTHING going on outside...traffic and street noise at all hours of the night, it is especially disruptive on weekends with late night party goers outside.
Room is aging -Noisy fridge and furnace, made a lot of noise when running, very disruptful when sleeping. Furniture was uncomfortable in the sitting area (it's time to change out the wicker furniture), the bathroom was roomy, but dated -the tiles around the tub were dirty and the caulking had mold in many places. The kitchen, while full size, had an awkward cabinet layout. The cabinets which housed the plates, cups, etc (items used most) needed a chair to reach them.
The B&B had an opportunity to help make our anniversary stay incredible, but the room accomodations and problems with service proved to be a major disappointment. Overall -bang vs. buck, no bang, all buck.
