“Claustrophobic rooms here!”

When I first arrived at the conference center the lobby was very open and welcoming feeling. But as soon as we went to find our room we entered the rabbit warren of narrow hallways which felt like a maze! Our room was miniscule, with barely any room to walk around the bed! I had to work hard to not feel completely claustrophobic. It had LOTS of closet space though, and a small bathroom.

The grounds were pleasant looking, with a ropes course and room to stroll. However, being August it was too hot to want to go outside.

The meeting room area was again a MAZE! There were tons of meeting rooms, and our's wasn't even labelled on the map. Some of the people in our workshop got lost every day trying to find it.

The website boasted a restaurant and "tavern", but as far as I could tell it was all the same place, which was basically a cafeteria. The food was varied and you had choices, but it was still cafeteria quality. For any other options you needed a car.

The staff was nice, but I wouldn't go back unless it was my only choice.

AATC, Fort Worth, Texas
March 18-28, 2007

I attended a training on a govenment funded trip and I enjoyed my stay at AATCC while I was away from my family. The Royal Coachman Dining Room Staff were all friendly especially the cash register ladies. Food was great. Maria the shuttle bus driver was fantastic, great customer service. Maria even took me to church on Sunday. The cleaning room staff were great, they kept my room clean everyday. Overall the facilty is above average. The only bad experience I had is when I received my bill. I used a government credit card to pay for my room and meals. When i received my credit card bill, there was an extra amount of $2,030.00 that was charged in my account. When I checked out on March 29, 2007, the amount was not in my statement. I contacted the facility and I was informed that the amount was a room bill from another customer that stayed there. When i asked how did it happened, I was given an answer that they don't know and they will refer it to the manager. April 13, 2007, I tried to get hold of the management to demand an explanation to the extra charge of $2,030.00, I did not get a respond. I left a message to a Ms. Teorgian Whitenight early morning of April 13,2007. The call was not return. April 16, 2007 I left messages early in the morning to Ms. Teorgian Whitenight again, Mr. Gary Smith Stinger (Comptroller), general manager, manager, and the assistant manager of the facility. Again, my calls were not return. I got hold of the assistant manager's office in the afternoon of April 16, 2007, I was able to talk to a lady who seems to be surprised why I was calling her office for a billing dispute. I told her that no one is returning my calls and she gave me the name of Mr. Corey Stack. I called Mr. Stack immediately the same day and once again it is an answering machine like the previous calls I made. I feel like AATC management is avoiding me. I called the next day (April 17, 2007) at 8:00 A.M. Texas time, 6:00 A.M. my time and still I'm talking to an answering machine. So, I left messages again. At around 9:00 A.M., I was able to talked to a nice lady at the check-in desk, her name is Nicky. I told her what my problem is and she assure me that she will try to talk to her manager about it and she will get back with me. At around 10:00 A.M. I received a call from Nicky saying that everything has been taken cared of. She said the amount will be credited in my government credit card. Nicky was great, she made the issue so simple. If AATC management will only do what Nicky did or at least return any of my calls, there won't be any problem. The emotional stress AATC management have given me is too much. Up to now as I was writing this review, I still have not recieve any call from any of the management. They owe me an explanation on what had happened and an APOLOGY. They should promote NICKY and teach management what customer service is.

“Wonderful staff, Itty bitty rooms, Good food, meeting rooms”

Well we were picked up at DFW and were taken to the AACC. Very nice ride and the driver who turned out to be a life saver on many Night was Mr. Trinidad. Give the front desk some notice and he will drive you within reason to the corner 7/11 or up to Walgreens or maybe to the mall. A $5 tip per trip is always a must , he works very hard at times. sometimes he is very busy and not get to your trip right away. The rooms are so small it needs some up dating to re-size the rooms to todays standards, this place used to train the stewardess's for AA back in the day. The Food in the place is always served by a very able staff , lots of choices for those who need a different fix each day. Lots of choices and I had a hard time choosing which station got my business each meal (we stayed 2 weeks). Very neat grounds and meeting rooms had a snack table right outside the meeting rooms that changed during the day offering soda, teas, coffee, muffins ,candy ,water that was so nice to see it made the breaks we were on a much better experence. Internet cafe was mostly taken up by some student group that was there during our stay so we use the business office to use the computer in there. Outside smoking on the patio was fine for those who smoked the even brought out heaters for the smokers!!. Laundry was easy to find on each floor .75 cents for a wash and .25 cents for the dryer. Benny will fill your needs at the bar and make sure you get to the right bar or niteclub when there He reccommended "Cowboys" and we had a blast also for a nice change of pace for dinner we went to Fogo de Chao, for a huge dinner it was close for those who get a car or have one already. AACC is not really close to anything to walk to so if you don't have wheels Tip the driver and wait for the shuttle bus. Bar food is bar food nothing special but what did you expect? Bucket of beer (5) seemed to be the norm to get. Game room just off the main hallway was always being used it has a big screen TV , Ping pong table, air hockey, 2 pool tables, video games, foosball soccer, vending machines. Also the common areas in the room hall ways were being used for card games, meetings some visiting between guests (mostly because the room sizes) overall the place had eveything you needed after a meeting or training to keep you fed, busy, drunk or a combo of each. Staff were friendly and likeable. staff that cleaned the rooms were top rate very nice and sooooo good at their jobs.Points taken away for room size, location next to nothing ,hot water, not hot or available sometimes , very small gift shop (store) and internet cafe hogged by a group all the time.Plus points were staff, food, clean rooms, clean halls, well lighted halls and stairwells, rec room, gym equipment always clean and useable, meeting room snacks. Also take a very short walk to the AA museum to view the movie and get inside the old DC-3 they have there, Free to guests.
