“American Art from The Phillips Collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

Admission to the museum and to this special exhibit is free. The works of art covered paintings and sculpture of art are on loan from The Phillips Collection - a museum to which I had not been aware of. The exhibit is considered American Art. It was diverse and interesting to see. The items were arranged so that each piece could be appreciated on it's on without being intruded upon by someone else. On the day I visited 2 groups of children were visiting the museum for a field day. They were well behaved and stayed engaged with the docent and were not a distraction while strolling through the galleries. The gift shop had many lovely items to choose from. There is also a exhibit catalog that was not pricey and quite nice to have as a reminder of the art that will be going "home" soon.

“Great Cowboy Art”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

Several sculptures and paintings from early 1800's. They purchased, what I would consider, a modern art piece. Doesn't really fit in, but they like it.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

This has one of the finest western art exhibits anywhere you will ever go. The works are well presented and the facility is very attractive and gives you a nice feeling of intimacy with the artworks. Fabulous artists, these are the masters of western art!

“Had not been here in 27 years!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

Did not recognise it due to expansion and remodeling. Parking is off street and much easier than it used to be. Admission, even for the special exhibits, is free. Docents are well informed and friendly. This a small, charming venue.

“Good place to see American Art.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

The Amon Carter Museum always seems to have something good on display - and if the current exhibition doesn't interest you - the next one just might. They also offer pretty good "extras" too - from lectures, to gallery discussions, and different little programs. Wonderful museum to stop in at weather you live locally or are visiting from out of town.
