“A lovely place to spend a few hours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Life these days seems all about hustle. Which is too bad, because it might cause people to overlook the Botanic Garden, a real island of peace and quiet just minutes west of downtown Fort Worth.

There's a wide variety of flora to check out (and if you're lucky, some interesting fauna as well, hiding among the greenery), including a massive rose garden that I just love, despite my allergy to roses.

So unplug for a while--turn off the cell phone, pretend Facebook hasn't been invented yet, and commune with nature. You'll be glad you did.

“Worth a Special Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

This is a large botanical garden located in the heart of town, next to the Kimball, Amon Carter and Modern Art museums. It is free except for the tropical conservatory and the Japanese Garden. The entire facility is quite nice and well-maintained, but as others have said, the Japanese Garden is the star. It should not be missed. It is huge compared to other such gardens. Unlike any other Japanese garden I have visited, it has notable changes in elevation. This gives the viewpoints and walkways a unique character. Strongly recommended.

“Very nice.”

We took the Segway tour through the gardens. It was enjoyable and the garden is quite attractive and well cared for. The trail were nicely maintained and we really loved exploring the gardens.

The entire gardens are lovely and the highlight is the Japanese garden section. We easily spent 4 hours admiring everything.
