Rooms were clean. Comfortable bed and friendly staff. Loved that the breakfast buffet included so many made to order options and was open until noon. Really nice when you are staying out late and want to sleep in. The pool and hot tub were clean. Traffic was bad on I-35 but we managed to stay off freeway and take side streets- 15 minute trip to stockyard. Front desk gave us complimentary tickets to see Casey James at Billy Bobs, which was a pleasant surprise. Definitely would stay here again.

Unfortunately I have to give them a less than average review.

When I walked into the "motel" I was stunned at the smell of fried greasy food.
There grill is right next to the lobby and the greasy smell was overwhelming.

When I turned down my bed, it looked like someone had wrestled around on the sheets.
The top sheet had 6" hanging on one side and 20" hanging off the other side. I immediately asked for clean sheets.

As I walked in and out each time there were 3 or 4 young people at the desk chatting... they greeted us enthusiastically with "How are you doing?" Do you think they really care. Wouldn't a nice "good evening" be more appropriate?

The heater rattled sometimes but not always.
Wish this wasn't the case for $100 a nite but it seems more and more this is standard fare
for that price.

Oh yeah, there was a big "hole" in the middle of my mattress.

This a hotel for working people and it's staffed by down-to-earth, dedicated hard-working people. You mostly see the front desk and restaurant staff. These people are all terrific at their jobs. There must be good housekeeping and maintenance that you don't see because the rooms are always clean and the sinks are never clogged, Based on my twenty or so stays here, I know that if I ever did have a problem it would be addressed right away.

The adjustable mattress made for the best traveling nights sleep I have ever encountered. Clean room and bathroom. The room was made up every day, and was ready for another good nights sleep. The only problem I had was with the room coffee service. Had a great stay!
