My perception of the hotel started off on the wrong foot and it ended in a subpar room. First, I was made to wait to check in for a significant amount of time as the front desk staff member searched her iphone to give directions to another guest. At first it wasn't an issue, I didn't mind waiting, but it took a lot longer than was necessary. Second, when I asked for a complimentary tooth paste, I was told I had to purchase them from their pantry and they did not have any complimentary ones. Third, when I got into the elavator, I noticed the doors took forever to close and the hotel staff had not replaced the advertisements where someone had carved the f-word into the plastic holder. When I went into my room, I immediately noticed I had not been upgraded to their best available room as their policy states should be offered to Diamond members when available and looking at the amount of vehicles in the parking lot and lack of activity in the lobby, I'd say the hotel was not even 1/3 occupied. Then I noticed the cracks in the tiles in the bathroom, walls, and my door catches on the carpet which required me to force it to close completely. The bathroom, (especially the tub and floor tiles) was disgusting. Everything looked dirty and old. One of the lamps on the side of my bed wasn't even working (maybe the lightbub blew out). Overall, I was very unsatisfied with the room and service I received. I travel extensively for work and I often prefer to stay at the Hilton Garden Inns as they tend to be the nicer of the Hiton chains other than the Hiltons and Conrads, but I was not happy with the hotel.
