“Free museum, much Remington”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

We really enjoyed this museum, in the midst of downtown Fort Worth and within walking distance of city hall. Sid Richardson himself was a fascinating, self-made oil baron in the tradition of other rich and powerful Texans. This museum presents his collection of Western art by Remington and others. The attendants and other guests were all polite and gracious. There is an excellent brochure explaining each work in the chronology of the artist's life. Remington's biography is a fascinating one, involving travel, adventure, rough living, and witnessing of much violence in the history of the American West. This is evident in the kinetic paintings and sculptures he created, quintessentially American. An afternoon well spent.
