My family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers reached Ft Stockton late at night during Spring Break, and all the brand-name hotels were full. The only one with rooms was the Super 8, so we rented with trepidation. To our surprise, the two adjacent second-floor rooms were large, well-furnished, quiet, and squeaky clean. The breakfast was the same as we usually enjoy at the Hampton Inn properties, with the added attraction that the TV was not tuned to CNN and the volume was turned down so that one could actually have a quiet conversation. The staff and guests were uniformly friendly. We did not have pets, but they accept pets for a small fee. Some trivial amenities were not the same as at higher-priced properties, such as generic soap and somewhat fewer towels, but what was provided was more than adequate for our needs. The children asked that I mention also the excellent cinnamon rolls at breakfast, and the gumball machine full of tasty gumballs. We did not use the fitness center, but it looked clean and useful.
