“Excellent burger, got too stuffed to try the famous ice cream.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

Burger and fries were excellent. We do not have these in San Antonio so it was a nice change and very good food for a fast food joint. LOVED the special sauce, going to try to recreate it at home. Dining area was very clean, restrooms need to be redone. Staff was super friendly.

“They Have Some Good Ice Cream Flavors”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Braum’s is a regional ice cream shop that also has fast food and a small grocery section. Only a small subset of their flavors is available by the scoop at any time. They have some really good flavor combinations, but there are times when none of the ones I really like are available. They have seasonal flavors that start showing up in the fall and stay through the holiday season like pumpkin, gingerbread, and eggnog, and they are good. It’s a smart way to keep people buying ice cream even after the weather cools down. I’m not aware of any flavors that are specific to any other season. I go for the ice cream. I have tried their grill food, and it’s just average. I’m not likely to get a meal here unless I’m coming with others who want to eat here. There isn’t much in the way of atmosphere, but I’ve noticed this is typical for the chain. Booths have plastic seats which are a little uncomfortable. The dining area is usually clean, but there have been times, I’m guessing right after a rush of customers, when it’s been hard to find a clean table. Even when they look clean, the tables often feel sticky. Service can be slow and disorganized when there are more than a few customers waiting. The way they have it arranged, you don’t get to see what flavors they have available until you are at the front of the line, so people sometimes stand there making up their minds while everyone else waits. There are separate registers for people making ice cream/grill purchases and those buying groceries, but this doesn’t help much. There is often not enough staff to man both registers, so one cashier sometimes has to run back and forth between the two, or send the ice cream buyers to the grocery register. Your ice cream may melt a little before you get rung up when they do this. When I look in the door and see a line waiting, I usually just drive by and go somewhere else because I know it’s going to take longer than I want to wait.
