“Good Place to Stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

Not a whole lot of options for dinner in Dumas but 287 Roadhouse is good. My wife had the chicken fried chicken which she deemed the best she had ever had. I had the chicken fried steak which was good. The mac and cheese was just so so but the excellent bread rolls made up for it. The sweet tea was also a treat.

“Great find in Dumas, TX!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013 via mobile

Stopped at 287 based on other TA reviews and I agree with the strong ratings. We stayed in the "dining" side and really enjoyed out dinner. The food was outstanding... and not just by Dumas standards. I strongly recommend a visit and we will be back when driving through Dumas again!

“Good food, excellent service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

There are two sections to this restaurant: Sit Down traditional restaurant, and the Sportsbar. My husband and I had dinner in the sit down section. He had an enchilada plate (said it was excellent) and I had a steak. My steak had a wonderful flavor, as did the vegetables. Great seasonings! The steak was slightly tough, but the great flavor made up for it. There is almost no decor in this part of the restaurant and the music could be a little louder so you don't hear everyone else's conversations. Also, if you wanted a beer/wine, you had to buy a $3 membership required by the city (our county?). We didn't. That was annoying though, but not the restaurant's fault. Overall, the atmosphere was average, but the food bumped it up to "very good."

We enjoyed the chicken fried steak dinner and taco salad. Great stop on our way to and from the mountains!

“good place to chow down”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Was given the honor recently of having 287 cater meals to a convention i was attending. They done an excellent job and the food was very good. Have eaten there previous and not all impressed, may have to give them another try after the good meals we just had from them.
