“Great wine, great views, great day...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

No matter what vineyard we start at, we usually end up at Driftwood... and not just because it's one closest to home! The wines are consistently great (can't say that about some others around Austin), the view is great, staff is always friendly, there's a ton of picnic tables under the trees and in the pavilion... bring a picnic, do a tasting, buy a bottle of your favorite and watch the sunset!

“Love this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We've been going to Driftwood Vineyards since 2008. It has been so wonderful to watch all the amazing changes and additions they've done over the years. My husband and I also got married here in 2010. It was spectacular and beautiful! If you ever have an opportunity to meet Gary, they wine maker, he is the sweetest person! Best wishes to the who staff at Driftwood, you are all the best!

“Such fun for a great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

My fiance and I drove up to Driftwood Vineyards and did a wine tasting. They let you taste 1oz. of 5 different wines for $5. It is a great value. You can then buy a glass or bottle of whichever wines you like, take them out on the patio/hillside and sit and watch the day go by, The view is amazing from the vineyard and definitely worth the drive up.

“Gorgeous views, worth the trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

I live locally in Wimberley so have been to the winery numerous times. The wine is sometimes hit or miss but the tasting is not so cost prohibitive to not come and enjoy the wonderful views. The Tasting house overlooks the vineyards and only the cars passing by on Ranch Road 12 make it look like it is not something out of a painting. Numerous chairs and picnic tables dot the hillside allowing almost everyone to have a great view. Interestingly enough, my favorite wine of that they serve is the Viognier but it is not of their vintage......it is made at a California winery, but it is very tasty.
They allow you to bring in your own ice chest (no other wine or beer), but we take cheeses, crackers, grapes, fresh strawberries or cherries to make an afternoon of it enjoying the view playing bacgammon. It is so worth the trip from surrounding areas.
