“What has happened!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

El Fenix has always been my favorite Mexican food restaurant. What has happened to it? We went for lunch recently and it was not good. I love their Taco Salad and didn’t even recognize it. The proportions are smaller but no more wonderful Taco shell bowl just a soggy flat shell on the bottom. Tons of lettuce, a little dab of sour cream and avocado on the top, probably a tablespoon of cheese, and we had a hard time finding any meat. Finally we discovered a small blob on the bottom. It had absolutely no taste and we had to keep dumping the chip salsa on it to have any flavor at all. What a disappointment. .

“A good place to be on a Wednesday night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

El Fenix is the best place in town on a Wednesday night. Not only does one get to enjoy a quiet atmosphere and excellent service, but a plate of delicious cheese enchiladas for a great price.

“GOOD SERVICE, MEDIOCRE FOOD, POOR ATMOSPHERE”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

So if you want a place where your mediocre, weak margarita and tasteless nachos come fast under blasting bright light because the management couldn't figure out that "house lights" only need to be turned up when the restaurant is closed for cleaning and NOT FOR CUSTOMERS - go here.

It's mediocre food. Weak drinks. Not even in margarita glasses. (white wine glass?) And brighter than the local college football stadium at night. Service is good. But who cares?

“Good food, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Tex mex done very well in a clean place and run by friendly people. What more could you ask for? El Fenix has been around a long time for a reason. They care about their customers and it shows.

“Traveling and stopped in... It was good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The service was great and food was good. Large, open, uncrowded dining. Seemed clean. There were many choices on the menu not typically seen on Mexican restaurant menus. I had salad with grilled shrimp. It was good!
