A few years ago, I had a couple of cheap nights at the Hampton Inn in Deer Park. I liked it then, and on my latest visit, spending a night before sailing out of Houston on a cruise, I'm glad I came back.
This is not a big-deal fancy hotel, just a clean, quiet, comfortable, friendly hotel. I tend not to sleep well in unfamiliar places, but I snoozed out just fine here. The rooms aren't huge, but they're adequate.
The hotel is on a busy street, but set back far enough that even if you're in a room facing the street (as I was), you won't hear much traffic noise.
Breakfast was about average for a Hampton Inn, but that's not a bad thing. It was hot and tasty. The sausage was really excellent.
Staff was friendly and helpful. For example, they pointed out the nearest post office when we needed to send some last-minute Christmas cards.
If you're in the area, give it a try.
