“Huge but nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2011

As everybody else mentioned as well below: this hotel is h u g e !!

Pro's: clean big room's, lot's of bars for both food and drinks.
Very helpfull and friendly staff all over the hotel: we needed a taxi several times during our stay and staff at the door was alert and friendly: very good service!
Nice suggestions where and what to visit in downtown Dallas!

Con's: WIFI was way to expensive and usually only available in my room: that sucks since I like to sit at a bar with my netbook! Room for improvement there!

Overall: fantastic, clean conference hotel!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room which faces the Dallas City skyline....I loved the view :-)

Very clean and elegant facilities. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were very clean with good amenities. A definite "repeat" next time in Dallas.

This hotel is HUGE. If you're at a conference beware if meetings are being held on both the tower and Atrium side as there is a good 100yds between each building. The large auditorium is closest to the atrium side. Media bar has good food and a decent atmosphere when the hotel is full. The hotel is not really near anything so plan on taking a taxi everywhere. The gym is impressive but is a full 5 min walk from the atrium side of the hotel. I would unlikely choose to stay here if I was on a vacation in Dallas because of the location.

Room Tip: If you're at a conference then rooms in the Atrium building are closer to the conference facilit...

Typical of Hilton, this hotel has spacious lobbies with lovely water features and seating areas. It was a good thing to have a glass roof because the first afternoon when we were waiting to check in the electricity went off for about an hour. We were served cookies and efforts were made to accommodate people's needs. When we were finally able to check in, the electronic room keys had been disabled, so the bellhop had to go to each room to let people in.

Overall, however, the restaurant, Media Grill, was delightful and our room was spacious and well appointed. The concierge, Terri, was especially helpful and friendly.

The best part, though, is the sculpture park that begins at the hotel and extends beyond. The walking/jogging paths are great and I loved having a beautiful and safe place to have my morning walk.

Room service is exorbitant. Also, there are no other restaurants or any shopping area within walking distance. That was the greatest drawback, in my estimation, since we didn't rent a car. A taxi to a shopping area with restaurants was $25.

Room Tip: You could ask to overlook the sculpture park.

What can you say other than awesome about a hotel that has a huge moving color changing abstract piece of art in the atrium that cost $1,500,000 not to mention the jillions of dollars of other artwork throughout the hotel. Only complaint was the bathroom was very small

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a city view.

This is a nice 5 star hotel in the market square area of dallas.Huge hotel with asian dacor.I had a corner room, large, nice linens and well kept. Some will complain about the cost of parking. These folks have not traveled much. All major large city hotels do this. The property the parking lots site on are prime real estate. Now get over it! This hotel also has a very nice indoor pool area with a nice hot tub.My main problem with this hotel was wuth housekeeping and management.I had two hotels on this trip. This one and one in arlington.I had business in both cities and needed more than one hotel this trip. When i came back to the anatole at 10am to my room, the door was open and my luggage was visible from the hallway.I was pissed! I had left a do not disturb sign on the door and a note on the bed to let all know I was not cheking out yet.Asked for the main manager and not only didi he do nothing but he was rude.I will not stay here again and suggest others do not as well, unless you want your luggage stolen!

HotelQA, Manager at Hilton Anatole, responded to this review, November 22, 2011
I want to personally thank you for sharing the details of your recent stay at our hotel, and apologize that we apparently dropped the ball for you. I can understand, as a traveler, the importance of privacy and security, and once that trust is lost it can be damaging. While your post highlighted the beautiful decor, and the cleanliness of the hotel, the fact that your door was open upon your return has tarnished all of that for you. We do strive for excellent outstanding service, and while I am glad that your belongs were all accounted for, I must apologize if our manager on duty didn't give you the appropriate attention that you needed at that time. Please reconsider staying with us for your next visit to Dallas, I am confident that what occurred will not occur again, and you can have a great stay with us.

Best regards,

Kim Hubbard-Spurlock

It was a Hilton! It had all the amenities of a Hilton in a major US city. Oriental artwork and a very magnificent piece (Nebula) hanging over the Atrium - great atmosphere. We were there for a business trip and found the meeting spaces, private rooms and general ambiance to be excellent. There was a nice variety of eating places and watering holes. The Concierge, Jay, was extremely helpful and very willing to answer any question I had about the hotel and about the City.

Negative - WiFi. WiFi is now an essential for all business travelers. It should not be charged for. I needed it, so I paid - $ 12.95/per day. I was able to get online in my room, but reception elsewhere in the hotel was terrible, or non-existent. If you stood in just the right spot, facing the right way, with one foot in the air, you could often connect from the Media Lounge. Sit in the Atrium, right outside the Media Lounge, and you lose your connection. The Hilton chain is a great place for business meetings; this needs to be corrected.

When I was not online, loved the place.

Room Tip: Bring a mi-fi if you need to connect.
