My husband and I recently stayed at the Westin Park Central as part of a marriage conference/romantic getaway. The desk clerk was rude and we had a great deal of difficulty checking-in. He couldn't find the reservation under our name and we had to search for our confirmation number. After giving him the confirmation number, surprise, he was able to pull-up our reservation under our name. We had booked a king room but were told that there were no king rooms available and we would have to take a double. Geez, that's romantic (extreme sarcasm). We later went back to the front desk and insisted on the king room that we had booked. We had been told earlier that the hotel was completely booked. We refused to relent and a king room magically appeared. It was a handicapped room, which was okay, at least it had a king bed. I'm thinking that this room was set aside because it needed some maintenance. The a/c unit was so loud that it sounded like a motorcycle was right outside our window. We couldn't sleep with the noise and decided to turn the a/c off. The sink was clogged; so much so that washing our hands filled over half the sink.
The positives are that the hotel is nice. It would be good for business travel or couples. Not really a great hotel for kids - there is not much to do around there.
I would NOT suggest the breakfast buffet. We ate the breakfast buffet, which was $21 each. It was very small. For the same price at other hotels, you get twice as many food choices. We wished that we had gone to IHOP.
After we checked-out, we were emailed a copy of our bill. When they switched our rooms from the double to the king, they did not carry over the original room rate and we were charged more than quoted. It took 3 days, 10 calls and 3 messages left (which no one returned) to take care of this problem. Not a very service oriented hotel in my opinion!!
