I stayed at his hotel for as it was the location of an international meeting I was attending.
The actual hotel in terms of layout and structure is pleasant. there is a nice bar and open atrium giving a sense of space. The location is downtown still on the outskirts of the city bound by the railway station and large roads, making walking from the hotel a bit unpleasant.
My main problems with this hotel were however the service, room noise and lack of effective wifi in the room and very slow when available.
The front desk and concierge were polite but quite indifferent and lacked any enthusiasm for service. When relaying the concerns I had they were dismissive, not feeling that it was a problem. With regards house keeping at 15h00 on two of the days I had to call to see if they were going to make my room up. Apart from the fact that i would expect this to occur in the morning the front desk was again quite abrupt as if this was acceptable.
Interms of the room, it is was spacious and nicely furnished. I was offered a room with a view which was quite wonderful, until the ongoing noise throughout the night from the train station below made sleep difficult. There is a card saying how well they have renovated the room with new features, you think they could have done something to keep the noise out. I was on the 19th floor I can only imagine how bad it must have been lower down.
The main problems however was internet access. In my room I had intermittent signal at best. After two days of complaints, I was given a LAN cable which helped for my computer but left my mobile devices with no solution. I asked whether the wifi in my room could be remedied to which i was told that would meant calling a technician out, and did I really want that? Even when using the wifi in the lobby where signal was good it was unbearably slow, meaning that work was near impossible, let alone just checking emails. The excuse provided was that the hotel was near capacity, surely a hotel should be able to function at any capacity.
So in summary the structure and layout of the hotel and the rooms are nice. The location average, service below par, and internet and hence facilities for someone wanting to work during their stay, non existent.
