“delightful evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

Fun old building, lovely room, well decorated, comfortable and very clean. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance in a quiet, but active and interesting neighborhood. Great location for seeing the sights of Dallas. Didn't have the breakfast, but they were kind with offers of coffee and teas any time. Only negative would be the old style and small television.

I am a longtime Dallasite so this was a stay-cation. I got to ride the trolley and meet some friends for dinner at the West Village then went to the local pubs. I've always wanted to ride the trolley! Parking is a challenge but everything is within walking or trolley distance. The staff was very sweet and attentive. I hope to go back some day :)

Staying at Bailey's Uptown Inn is like visiting a relative with really good taste. You feel kind of pampered in your own room, yet you get to hang out in a groovy shared living room and even use the kitchen if you like, possibly encountering the other guests, or maybe not. To me, this is so much more relaxing and fun than waiting on valets, snotty clerks, and elevators in the mega hotels. Drinks and food are a pleasant stroll away through Uptown. And a good deal, too! Very easy to make reservations and check in. I'd recommend it for any sociable traveler.

This is the fourth time I have stayed here for business trips. The neighborhood is safe, charming and filled with restaurants within quick walking distance. (Try S&D Oyster Company!). I have generously been upgraded twice in the midweek. If you are an independent traveler, this is a perfect spot. The owners live next door and are available with a phone call, but leave you to yourself unless you need them. This is my home away from home in Dallas.

Location location location...this was far and above what my wife and I expected from a B & B in Downtown Dallas (uptown actually). Bailey's Uptown Inn was a great place for us to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversar. Many of the great restaurants were walking distance or use the McKinney Avenue as transportation it's free. The breakfast was very tasty as well.

We asked if we could come a day early with just 1 hour notice & they were so nice to accommodate us. They also upgraded our room before we arrived & allowed us a late check-out. The place is so very attractive & in the perfect location for all downtown activities. Our room was very attractive & spotless with wonderful bed linens. There is a free trolley to ride around the town in just a few blocks away and the inn is close to wonderful restaurants.

The only negatives were that parking is tight, we were only given 1 bottle of water each though we stayed 3 nights & the room could have been refreshed better than it was. When we were there they were not serving breakfast so I cannot rate it.

If I return to Dallas I would stay here. Very attractive neighborhood & a very nice inn.

What a great experience. We had never been to a B&B before, opting for big hotels in the past. But we absolutely loved our stay at Bailey's Uptown Inn. We just stayed for one night as a little staycation. The house is beautiful and in a fun location, right off McKinney. Lots of restaurants, bars, live music, shopping, etc. within walking distance. The room was immaculate and we loved the feeling that we were in a home, not a chain hotel. Everyone we met there was super nice and super helpful. We stayed in the Blue Room, and we absolutely loved it. It was nice and cool (the coldest room in the Inn we were told, which was great on a warm day) and had an electric fireplace. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was quite nice. We were able to park right on the property which is covered parking and was included, which is super nice in uptown. Andrea and the staff are very knowledgeable about the area and things to do, but all you have to do is walk around and you will find someplace to eat dinner/hang out without any problem. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed sitting around a dining room table and talking with the other couples that were staying there. It was really refreshing. It felt very personal and warm. Overall we had a wonderful experience. We will be back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the blue room, which we were told is the coldest room in the house. We loved it!
