“Good Hotel, Close to DFW”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Second stay at this hotel and it is very convenient to DFW Airport. You can actually walk to it from Terminal C, but they also have a shuttle. The rooms were very nice and pretty quiet considering it is inside DFW airport. Didn't have free WiFi, so a little disappointed there. The gym however was really nice and large. Lots of equipment and weights. Restaurant & bar on property, food was good, a little overpriced, but most hotels are. Bar was a good place to watch sporting events.

My kids really enjoyed this hotel. We got a room on the 12th floor, and had a perfect view of the runway and the control tower. Ask for a higher level floor if you want the view. I think anything below level 4 did not get a very good view (all you can see at that level is a rooftop).

We saw planes taking off and landing at the same time on the different runways. It's beautiful watching at night too! I didn't know runway lights and airplanes landing could provide such entertainment for the kids (and me too I guess).

The staff at this hotel were excellent. Every request I had was fulfilled in minutes, from asking for extra decaf coffee to be put in my room, to refilling our tissue box, and getting my breakfast buffet to go so I could eat it in my room (it was cheaper that way as I cannot get myself to order room service with it's extra fees).

We were there for a convention and there were kids everywhere so the pool was super crowded in the evening but we swam anyway. The pool is so tiny and small considering how large the hotel is, but maybe it's because they get a lot of business travelers at this hotel. I agree the rooms are quiet, as others have mentioned. The airport noise was unnoticeable when we had the doors closed.

We liked the deli downstairs with it's yummy sandwiches and GREAT fruit smoothies!

Room Tip: Ask for a floor high enough to see the runway if you are interested in seeing planes take-off and la...

Here are the good things - if you are flying in/out of Dallas, you can't get any closer to the airport. The rooms are larger than average, and relatively quiet considering you are on the airport grounds. The valet - CJ, was incredibly nice and helpful. He ran and validated my parking ticket, kept my vehicle close by when I had to stop in my room quickly, gave great directions and practically refused a tip. He was a great representative of the hotel. On the negative side, the room service food was average at best. It arrived quickly, but I was disappointed in the food itself - it was nothing special. While you can get free internet access in the lobby, you can't in your room. I travel every week 2-4 nights, and typically stay at Marriott, where I always have free access. It's amazing that as a visitor you can get free wifi access, but when you are a paying guest in a room, you can't. I refuse to pay for wifi, so it is inconvenient for business. You also have to pay $15/night for a refrigerator, when most hotels always provide them for free if they aren't already in the room. So if you stay here, you will be nicked and dimed, which considering what I paid for my room, these items should have been provided at no charge. So nice rooms, but I will stay somewhere else next time.

Has been remodeled since last stay with lots of plugs added to room. The outside might be so-so but rooms are very nice. Validation of parking makes stay in this hotel a good value if you plan to be gone a while.

a great hotel as a stopover when transiting between flights or before or after a long haul flight. Can walk from terminal C or shuttle every 20 minutes to others. Efficient reception, good size modernised rooms and bathroom, no airport noise, ipod/iphone dock, excellent gym, good bistro for meals, free wifi in lobby. Negatives were no in room safe and no refrigerator.

This was the third time we have stayed here when we have not been able to connect to a destination in one day. In the past we have walked to the hotel through the parking garage, up some stairs and over a bridge. It takes less than 10 minutes and feels good after sitting on a plane. In this case, we arrived very late so we felt more secure taking the hotel shuttle. It was there to pick us up within 10 minutes of calling the hotel. Check in took less than a minute. King room was large, very clean and nicely decorated. It has a great desk type set up for anyone who wants to work with lots of outlets for charging. Being at the airport it is surprising that it is not very noisy. In the morning, they had multiple shuttles to the terminal and drop off was quick and seamless. The Grand Hyatt is actually attached to the terminal but the price is always significantly higher.

The hotel is one minute to to the airport via shuttle. Have been here twice for meetings. Each time the room has been clean, crisp and neat. The meetings rooms and food service were good. It's a busy, high useage place, but doesn't seem to show it. The restaurant and lounge are pretty good. No frills ,but they have gotten it right both times I've stayed.
