“Very convenient hotel with modern amenities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

I've stayed at the Hyatt regency DFW on several occassions, especially when landing late at night at DFW. Very convenient access from the terminals, I can get to bed within 30 min after landing. The facilites are very modern, the hotel looks sparkling new (and clean). The rooms are a generous size, the bed is comfortable, the bathrooms are clean and contemporary. They have all the usual amenities. Very reasonably priced rooms and the staff are helpful and accomodating. The breakfast is good but prices are high, as with most hotels. For business travel, it fits the bill.

Room Tip: When the shuttle picks you up from the airport, the driver will offer you free bottled water. If you...

Who goes on a family road trip to an airport hotel? We did and loved it!

Sometimes you never know what you're going to get when it comes to hotels located on the actual airport premises, and usually, it ain't that great. However, given thee strong brand and convenience of being nestled between the activities in Grapevine and Arlington without the exhorbitant prices of either, we took a chance on the Hyatt Regency DFW for a bargain (less than 100 clams a night) and had a terrific time. Our room was clean, modern, spacious, had a small balcony (most do) - and best of all for the children, we had a clear and close view of the east runway to watch a myriad of planes take off and land - and we were just a stone's throw from Terminal C . If you want a great view of the runway, I suggest requesting rooms that end with 17-23 on the seventh floor or higher. Jet engine noise from planes pretty much ceases after 11 pm (with the exception of an intermittent late arrival), assuring a good night's sleep.

Worried about paying out the nose for airport parking every time you come and go (as we were)? Don't....Parking is free, just remember to have the front desk validate parking each time you leave the airport premises. This was huge!

The saltwater system pool is refreshing but could use a bit more shade in the afternoon hours...It sure gets hot out there. Nevetheless, a welcome amenity for a hotel on the airport's front steps, but beware: the control tower is right there looking over you in your skivvies. One can only hope that their focus remains on the air traffic.

As you'd expect, the lobby and common areas are bustling with business people who tended to look at us like "what the heck are you doing here?". Of course you look back at them and smile, because you're on vacation and they're not. Nevertheless, good exposure to the fast paced world of business for the children, something not likely to be found at the Great Wolf Lodge.

Staff was great. Food at the restaurant, as you'd expect is expensive, but there's a counter service offering just off the lobby that serves pastries, premade sandwiches/salads, etc. that's more reasonable.

Our only negatives were the towels in the room (old and rough), sliding glass doors need a good clean and there was a glass filled with yellowed cigarette butts from a prior guest out on the balcony. Can be easily corrected with new fluffy towels and a little better housekeeping attention to detail.

All in all, a nice surprise and a great stay for any family who's interested in the dynamic of air travel and looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

We recently stayed at this Hyatt -- and I can not stop telling everyone how wonderfully fantastic and accomodating the staff had been. We were attending a conference for children with special needs and also have a family member who is quite restricted physically and needs use of an electronic wheel chair and assistive devices for everyday living. The staff went above and beyond to welcome us and make us feel comfortable during our stay. While all staff were terrific a special shout-out to Mary at the Front Desk, CJ who provided assistance (coming and going, poor guy) with all of our luggage (and two princess backpacks, worn by our little princesses !) and the two shuttle drivers (sorry I did not get your names) who assisted us on the ride to and from the airport. Again, we send much, much thanks your way and would highly recommend this hotel to all travelers, those with challenges as well as those who are able-bodied !

Stayed here July 14 2012 found hotel atmosphere very worm. Towels were nearly threadbare, very disappointing. Rooms are quite small, for the small difference in price the Grand Hyatt is much more desirable.Staff was very nice and helpful but they are not responsible for the status of the hotel and did all they could do.

Room Tip: Food less than mediocre, staff excellent.

This is a great hotel if you're flying in or out of DFW. The hotel itself is very nice, and the staff were extremely helpful. At the recommendation of the valet, I inquired about leaving my vehicle at the hotel while on vacation and it turned out to be quite economical and much more convenient than the other options at the airport. I would definitely come back to this hotel when utilizing DFW.

I recently stayed, both coming and going, at this hotel at the DFW airport in order to break up a trans-Atlantic flight. The hotel is not a disaster, but, at these prices, I think paying customers have a right to expect a bit more. Room back in June just fine. Last Monday night (July 16, 2012), both the sink and the shower wouldn't drain. Really horrible. Also, if you fly into DFW you need to take a shuttle. Driver last Monday very rude, especially since I was coming in off of a long flight. Neither the driver or hotel operator made it clear in the slightest where the pick up point was. And in 100+ temps, pleasing THEM was not high on my priorities. Why weren't they interested in pleasing me or being polite?

We stayed at the DFW Hyatt on 7-12-2012 prior to an early international flight the next morning. The hotel was very nice and we enjoyed actually being near the terminals so we did not have to mess with getting up any earlier to park, etc. The hotel is located NEAR Terminal C.....not actually in the terminal like the Grand Hyatt is in Terminal D (the International terminal). The hotel was in excelent condition and the staff was very helpful and nice. They have a shuttle service that will take you to the terminal of your choice and being so close it does not take long at all. The only issue we had was in the bar area where it took forever to get our order taken for food. Once the order was taken the food came quickly and was good. It then took about 30 more minutes to get our check. Internet in the hotel was also very, very slow. This hotel is great if for no other reason the convienance. If my stay was not related to a flight out of DFW i would not stay at this hotel. We have another international flight later this month and we will likely stay here again or possibly look at the Grand Hyatt DFW if the rate is good.

Room Tip: Higher floors have good views of the DFW runways if you like watching planes take off....
