“Good overview of Dallas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

If you want a quick history of Dallas, a visit to the Old Red Museum is in order. Even if you don't have time to do the whole thing, it is worth seeing just to view the four short films in each section of the museum. It'll give you a quick and dirty history from the founding of Dallas to today. Plus, the building is really cool.

“Super Friendly Ray E Hayes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

Ray is very friendly and very warm. He answered all our questions spontaneous and very confident. A visit to downtown seems very easy with the guide given by Ray.

“Good for history of Dallas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013 via mobile

A lovely old building, pay on ground floor, $8 adult, museum covers all of floor above. Arranged into 4 time periods, pre establishment to 2007. A lot of information displayed plus a short video as enter each display area. If you are interested in learning about Dallas, you will leave, some 2 hours later, well informed. Best to walk to from Downtown or one of its numerous carparks, several nearby.

“Everything there is to know about Dallas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This isn't a big museum, but it's packed with interest. A good balance of material from throughout the years, it gives a very good impression of what it has been like to live in the city through the years, how Dallas has developed economically and culturally.

It only loses one point because some of the presentation is a bit - only a bit - dusty and dry, but overall this is highly recommended. If you're not from the US, like me, I'd make it (even more of) a must-see; you'll come away understanding the place so much better.

Tip - it's right next to the DART station, so forget the car.
