“Urban fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013 via mobile

Dallas has never been very much fun, but this is a step in the right direction. The park is well situated, excellent place to meet friends. Kids can play on excellent jungle gyms, spinners, towers, all season ice-skating (on a synthetic "skating" rink). The Dallas Morning News has reading and games donated, and at one far end, gaming equipment can be borrowed (croquet, badminton, balls). So much fun! We met friends, kids played, we ate decent food from food trucks. Good timez!

“great use of space”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

It's small and efficiently laid out. The playground area has 3 no-sex bathrooms that separates the pre-school play area from the elementary school play area. A small fountain/creek runs a short distance, and kids loved sliding down the fake turf. The "skating" rink is small, oval, and made of plastic. No ice. The mechanics of ice skating do not work here. You'll have to learn new moves, The children will still have great, safe fun. Falls don't hurt as much as falling on ice. Although we visited Friday after Christmas, we had to pay $10 rental (should have been $5?) For free you can also play chess, ping-pong, foosball, putt-putt. Magazines and books are available. Leashed dogs are allowed.

“Unexpected highlight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

Stopped by while visiting the Dallas Museum of Art, and I was very impressed with this park.

The entire space was being used by local residents of all ages and backgrounds. It was a true melting pot. At first I thought that there was some sort of special event, like a concert. Nope...just a normal (holi)day at the park. Families, retirees, young people on dates...they all had the park as a destination.

Street noise was minimal, and seating area was plentiful.

“Always Nice City Stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

Perfection:
-FOOD TRUCKS!
-Literary material and games available

Leaves Much to be Desired:
-Not as many events in winter as summer (to be expected, but still--weather is pretty nice lately!)
