“What a pleasant surprise on my first visit to Dallas!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2014

I didn’t know this place existed until I happened to pass by while walking to DMA, so I dropped in the following day. I really enjoyed my visit to the Nasher Sculpture Center. The collection features some pretty noteworthy artists (Picasso, Rodin, Brancusi, Matisse, Stella, to name just a few), and the gallery space is set up in a way that makes it easy to stroll leisurely and take in the artworks from all angles. The rooms are designed and lit to create an excellent vibe. The special exhibit featuring David Bates is very good, so you must to hurry and see that before 5/11/14.

A walk in the garden is a must-do complement to what you’ll experience inside the galleries. I was there on a non-crowded day, and I took as many photos outside as I did inside. It’s a great environment for a relaxing stroll or chatting with friends.

“Disappointed”

Closed for a private event the Sunday afternoon we went. Always closed Mondays so unfortunately we missed it on this trip. Maybe next time . . .

“A landmark collection worth visiting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

While not gi-normous, it is a very calm, well laid out and stunning collection, especially the outside sculpture garden which is delightful in good weather.

“Very well curated exhibit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

This is an intimate museum that offers a glimpse into the world of modern sculpture. The works were very accessible and of excellent quality. The staff was pleasant and helpful. It was also nice that some of the collection is outdoors, but mostly viewable from indoors.

“Original works, parking can be an issue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

The gardens and the museum proper have an amazing collection that makes one think of the long time away when we had all the famous benefactors of the arts in the great cities. We seem to not get collections like these any more.
