“Towing nightmare”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014

We went to eat at Cafe Veracruz which used to have a parking area next to the building but recently changed it to valet only parking. We parked in the shopping area where Cafe Brazil is. The parking lot was pretty empty at 5p on Sat. Our plan was to eat at Veracruz and come back for dessert at C Brazil. My husband says let's put the leftover in the trunk first, well our car was gone! We asked inside and they told us they are very aggresive about towing and to call the # on the wall outside.
When our friend came to take us to the tow place we exited on the other side of the shopping center and it had a big sign about not parking there. There was no sign like that from the side that we entered. We had to pay $164 to get our car back. Obviously, we didn't have dessert and it ruined the evening.
We've been coming to Bishop arts for years to eat at Veracruz but We're NEVER going back to Bishop Arts unless they build parking lots or fix the parking problem.

“Something different, but still need to grow”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014 via mobile

We like to go here once in a while, getting away from the typical Uptown/Downtown or suburb mall dinning & shopping. Bishop is more laid back, original and has an European flavor to it. Few chain restaurants here; more original restaurants with great menus, and some nice neighborhood shops where you find something you did not expect.

I never had parking problems, as long you're willing to park in "shadier" residentially streets next to Bishop. And never felt unsafe neither, but the side streets are not very attractive, as the buildings are less than maintained.

My only issue, is that the offering is kinda limited. I believe that it still needs to grow bigger (without loosing its appeal of course) in order to be a real attraction. I greatly support this area gets a chance to be a key place in Dallas to visit.

“Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

Have been to Enos and loved the pizza. Went again today and wanted to try something different. Went to Gloria's and the food was not good. Drinks were bad. Only good thing was chips and salsa. Will never go there again.

“Williamsburgh in Dallas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

Almost feels like the Brooklyn of Dallas. This district contains my favorite restaurants (Hatties, Driftwood, Bolsa, Boulevardier) in Dallas. There are also great boutiques and art galleries for strolling and one of the best music venues (The Kessler Theatre) in the city.
The neighborhood keeps getting nicer the longer I live in Dallas, and new exciting spots keep popping up.

“Fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

We love this funky, eclectic section of Oak Cliff. Worth the drive over the Trinity River. Don't miss Gloria's Salvadoran Restaurant in a renovated fire station.
