I went last Friday and although the mile long stretch of school buses in the parking lot were a clear indicator of what to expect we still wanted to walk around. Although we were run over by excited children it was a pleasant day. The staff was very informative and engaging, the exhibits were a little bit lacking. The signs/verbiage weren't always easy find, the set up was confusing. You had to go into the food court to see the lions, it was a little too chaotic. Every vending machine was sold out of water around noon. We probably should've gone to the aquarium instead, I think it was too hot for most of the animals so there wasn't much to look at.

I am glad to hear Zoo staff were informative and engaging, and every day we have several opportunities to meet keepers and animals.
I have sent an inquiry into why the vending machines were not stocked, as last Friday was a warm day. Unless it's Dollar Day with a large number of guests, those machines are generally full, so we apologize for the inconvenience. Our Guest Services team is always available and we have an Information Booth near the front entrance should you have future concerns you would like to share at the time of your visit.
We are the largest zoo in Texas and have recently begun adding new wayfinders and signage to assist guests as they manuever through the park. We look forward to your next visit.
