Owner description: The adventure at The Dallas World Aquarium begins at the top of the rainforest exhibit, where exotic birds, such as Cocks-of-the-rock and many species of toucans, can be seen. Lounging around are Two-toed and Three-toed sloths. Endangered animals, such as Orinoco crocodiles, Giant river otters, Antillean manatees and several species of monkeys are part of the many conservation projects. The aquarium portion displays interesting marine life, including Japanese crabs, jellyfish, Leafy, Weedy and Ribbon seadragons. Black-footed and Blue penguins can be seen swimming as guests enjoy the outdoor South Africa exhibit. Sharks, rays and sawfish are only a few of the fish living in the Mundo Maya cenote. Safe from Neotropical eagles, are euphonias, tanagers and hummingbirds. Reptiles and amphibians, both of significance to the Maya culture, can be seen throughout the exhibit.

Had a friend in town...so had to come back here. 3rd visit here...just love it. Lots to see and learn...don't miss this. Plenty of paid parking nearby and relatively easy to get to. Just purrfect 10 out if 10 :))

“Unique atmosphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

This is not what you would expect from an aquarium. There are actually few marine exhibits. It's more like an indoor rainforest that you can walk through and see all the animals in a natural setting. This is definitely worth checking out especially if you have kids.

“Good half day visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Not just an acquiarium it replicates a whole jungle atmosphere in the main exhibit with bids and monkeys on three levels on top and underwater view of fish and manatees below. It's a good acquarium and more but a half day is all it needs. The interior is set up on A little pricey considering.

“day after Carrie Underwood & Hunter Hayes "Blown Away" Concert”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

This is our 3rd visit in past year. Since exhibits are constantly being updated it just gets better each visit. There are a vast array of birds in exhibits but also flying freely around so you never know what's around each turn. The large water displays allow for giant river otters, manatees and assorted fresh and salt water sea life.

The shark exhibit can be observed from above, but I highly suggest the underwater walk-thru tunnel which allows visitors to see various sharks, rays and other large fish. When you enter be sure to pick-up the guide with feeding times and other daily exhibit information.

My daughter, who is 21, said it best. "I could go a 1000 times and each visit would be different and just makes her want to come back again and again"

Great for couples, families and other group outings.

I personally wish to thank Mr. Richardson for stopping to visit with us during our last visit. He explained his son's vision and how they started from an old abandoned warehouse and continue to grow.

The video interactive screens by most exhibits are well worth taking the time to read and learn of each exhibit. Call ahead or visit www.dwazoo.com to see schedule of ethnic dance shows and hours.
