The lobbies were beautiful. The room was pretty and comfortable. I could get used to to an all-marble bathroom. The magnifying mirror is nice. The TV was topnotch with good channel selection. The bed was supremely comfortable. The room has plenty of space and comes equipped with a safe and two luggage stands and plenty of drawers for those staying longer. Unusual for a downtown 4 star: in room wireless internet is free! While waiting for the valet to bring your car, if you stand around the corner of the lobby driveway, you can see the ramp into the parking lot and see an old-fashioned, continuously-moving open 'person-lift' that the valet drivers jump onto in order to ascend to the upper levels
The criticisms are minor, to be sure. If you arrive at check-in 'rush hour', you may find yourself in a traffic queue on Commerce Street; the circular driveway is ample at most times but a little small for peak periods. The beds are not heavy, but move a little bit. This allowed the bed next door to knock against the wall just a little bit, not bad. At the time of this writing, parking was $26/day, pretty standard for a downtown hotel; their valet service was quick.
