“Eh - Decent experience...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

For a Sheraton property I wasn't at all impressed with this property. I think the only thing going for this location is few amenities worth visiting - the rooftop pool, spacious gym, and outdoor fire pits.

Decor: Decent typical size rooms with midsize windows. Typical sheraton decor throughout the hotel, but it was missing something... Felt like walking through a bad Atlantic City casino hotel...

Service: Nothing too memorable. Bar/Lounge downstairs took their time in serving our table. Not impressed.

Location: In downtown, but there isn't anything to do in downtown. If you choose to stay here, make sure you rent a car or are ready to spend money on cabs.

First off I would like to mention that many people on here are hard to please in general, thus their negative reviews. My friend and I just came to Dallas from December 27 - January 1 (my second time in Dallas). We were very pleased with our stay and the hotel and I personally thought it was nicer than the Hyatt Regency in downtown. The room had the typical hotel setup, two queen beds and upon entering a bathroom to the right. Our room was on the 32nd floor of the North Tower and was clean, spacious, and up to standards, unless of course your hard to please in general. We did venture to other floors and I will say that some areas of the hotel were updated more than others, but nothing to complain about. If you are here on business what is there to complain about, the beds and pillows were more than comfortable. If you want top notch don't be afraid to open your wallet and go stay at the W hotel or Ritz Carlton.

Room Tip: Ask for a city view. 32nd floor of North Tower was very nice.

Terrible service. Beware, even the managers do not care how your experience was with your stay. I recently stayed there for a work event I had downtown. When I arrived at the hotel, my elevator was not in service. I had to walk up more than fifteen flights of stairs. During the night, the hotel fire alarm went off for more than a half an hour. My sleep was completely disturbed. I would have been better off driving the forty-five minute drive home to sleep comfortably. Now to top it off, when I went to check out at 9:30 am the next morning, there was a line at the check out desk. An employee at the hotel SHOUTED to us, "If you are here to check out, just leave." What a rude ending to a terrible experience. I called the hotel manager the next day, Katie. She said they were working on the situation (highly doubtful) and did not offer me any refund, partial refund or another night stay. They do not care about you. Period. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. There are plenty of other great hotels with awesome customer service in the same area.

Hi ADGM,
We apologize for the inconvenience had while you were with us as this is not typical of our hotel or service.

The experience you encountered with our front desk is very uncharacteristic of the level of service at our property and we are sorry for any stress this caused you. We will certainly determine how we can ensure this doesn't happen again. If given the opportunity, we would love to have you back with us again in the future.

I changed my rooms three times in a three night stay because the room was so cold and the heater wasn't functioning in 2 of the first three rooms I was in (the first one was due to another problem). Further, some of the FD staff seems very used to room change request and don't show any empathy on how inconvenient it is to pack everything and change the room amid the middle of a business trip.

The only highlight of my stays was the food service. The sports bar staff was very attentive and provided great service, and the room service breakfast was very nice.

We booked this hotel through Priceline negotiator for $60 a night. This hotel is very nice with a plenty or rooms and a number of conference rooms for events. Our room was on the 16th floor and was very clean and spacious, bed was comfortable, complimentary Starbucks coffee in the room, staff was friendly. Two reasons I did not give it a 5 is because the parking fee was a little pricey at $21 a night and we could still hear traffic from the 16th floor. Overall, great stay!
