“Very nice hotel if you need to be in Downtown Dallas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Spent a night at The Joule and it's a very pleasant hotel to visit. If you don't need to be in Downtown, however, it wouldn't be my first choice. It's a bit on the dark side, rooms are small [very] but very chic. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly and I only have good things to say about them. I got confused by the light switches and that kind of stuff, but it was a nice experience. Bed was very cool. Round and interesting lighting. I needed it de-feathered and it took room service no more than 5 minutes to show up and do the job right. Not every hotel acts so quickly and many don't know how to do it.
Only downside to this hotel is lack of parking. You must use valet which isn't cheap.
I'd give it 5 stars but I feel that 5 needs to be a stupendous experience. This was not. It was a great experience but on the pricey side.

The Joule has been a mainstay choice of mine for over 3 years and is my favorite hotel in downtown Dallas. I still remember my first experience on this premises in 2009, and have relished so many moments and experiences here ever since.

A review about this hotel cannot be written without commenting on the beds. When traveling -- for either business or pleasure -- a comfortable and well-made bed is so important for the ultimate hotel and travel experience. I know it's nearly impossible to believe, but in over fifty stays at the Joule, I have never had a poor night of sleep. Ever. The beds -- each and every one across several different rooms and floors -- is indescribably comfortable and conducive to quality, restorative sleep. I fall asleep almost instantly and sleep with little interruption, and wake up refreshed each and every day of my stay. Guests who have accompanied me, and colleagues who also stay on the premises, have wholeheartedly expressed their agreement with me on this front.

I would be remiss if I did not comment on the exceptional staff at this hotel -- from the gentlemen that greet guests at the door, to the house car drivers (Tim and Bryce), to the phone operator (Jackie), to the bellmen, concierge (Mark) to the hotel front desk staff. All are kind, patient, accommodating, and swift to see through any request. I have noticed heightened attention to detail and quality of service and hospitality as the months and years have gone by. In particular, I will share the following examples: last week, I sprained my ankle walking outside. Fifteen minutes later, an ice pack and ace bandage were sent to my room and the gentleman was thorough in asking for any other additional needs. On various and random occasions, the hotel staff will send up amenities to my room (wine, chocolate, sparking water -- a favorite of mine). I also like to leave some things behind between my stays such as drycleaning and other affects, and the staff accommodates with a smile.

Among the hotel employees, in particular the front-desk staff, Myron demonstrates a model of hospitality that is commendable. He is cheerful, attentive to needs, quick to please, and helpful whether on the phone, over e-mail, or in person. He has facilitated many wonderful free upgrades (based on availability), is patient in delivering mail and packages, always greets with a smile, and demonstrates professionalism and integrity in his role.

I highly recommend that you experience Dallas through the Joule. With their new renovations planning to roll out early next year, this hotel is sure to only get better! Your stay will be comfortable and you will be closely cared for all in the context of a well-designed, aesthetically pleasing, clean, contemporary, and traveler-friendly environment.

Enjoy! I am sure you will.

My husband I just recently stayed here for one night. Over all it was a nice hotel. Very close to many restaurants. The rooms are nice and very chic. I would recommend this hotel for sure. The Joule Suite has a very very nice bathroom. Tim the bellmen was great and Steffa the conceirge was awesome. Ricky the Ambassador did a great job for my friends wedding anniversary!!

The pool area is great and would be fantastic in the summer months. The pool extends our over the street with a glass wall. There seems to be several cabanas that are very comfy.

Spent a quick night at the Joule yesterday (my first time) and have to say that it might have been the best checkiin service ever. Myron welcomed me and my two business partners with free drink coupons, upgraded rooms and a can do attitude!

We ended up in Charlie Palmers chophouse later that night for desert and wine and had more great service from William and the sommelier/manager who selected a great Boudeaux to finish our evening. Very reasonable price by the way. Get the cheese plate!

Had a quick breakfast in CP this am, more great service and food!
Will definitely stay here again on next trip to Dallas!

Suggestion, book using the Amex Platinum Fine Hotels system!

The Joule is by far the best hotel in downtown Dallas. I travel to Dallas frequently and stay at the Joule as often as I can. The rooms are beautiful and cozy - they've executed a classic modern look beautifully.

The staff here is also amazing! They are so attentive to every detail and willing to help in anyway they can. If you get a chance to meet Myron, you must! He's truly wonderful! We were recently upgraded to the penthouse for one night during our stay - by far the most incredible room I have ever been in. The attention to detail is unreal; nothing was missed. Our evening was completed with complimentary milk and cookies, hand delivered by Myron and co.

If your trip requires a stay in downtown Dallas, the Joule is truly the best!

We first walked in and Myron at the front desk made us feel like VIP's. He really took care of us. The rooms were fantastic; Ultra-modern but very comfortable. Pillows were amazing. high tech large shower. We had shoes shined in record time. The pool hangs out over the street cupped in glass. Overall one of my best experiences at a hotel.

clean, close to all downtown restaurants, easy walk (10 mins) to convention centre.
The hotel is small but makes you feel special. Many personal touches ie, turn down service, hotel car service etc.
The rooms were nice and dark for sleeping. Ask for the larger suite rooms.
The pool is small but unique as it has a glass wall that you can swim up to and look down at the city street. Excellent pool side food. Burgers are huge and you can share....tasty too!
