Hotel is easy enough to find. The Dallas World Aquarium is right across the street, and the Perot Museum of Naure and Science is just a short walk. No need for driving, finding, and paying for parking. Also just a short walk away were several restaurants and bars. I did not like walking around at night as the area seems a little sketchy.
My experience with the valet was great. They were friendly and quick. The front desk staff were very friendly, even though the first room that we were given when we checked in was already occupied. Our room was clean, but nothing spectacular. The linens were stiff and not plush or comfortable. The pillows were lumpy. The AC was not working correctly (it was set on 60 degrees, but we were sweating). When we called for it to be fixed, it took 2 hours for maintenance to get there (several other rooms were having AC problems at the same time).
I was quite disappointed with the pool area. The pool itself is very small and was quite dirty. The least I expected was a clean pool, it being summer and all. Despite the guest guide book in the room stating that pool towels are provided, there were none. The hot breakfast was nice, and it's nice that the hotel offers a "Manager's reception" on Wednesday evenings with free food and drinks (alcohol included).
For the $/night we paid, I expected more.
