Several years ago, my husband and I stayed at this location and it was pretty good, although nothing outstanding. So I thought it would be an ideal place to bring a group of friends who were passing through on the way to Fort Worth. Oops, I made a mistake. While the rooms were reasonably clean, the a/c was running sub-standard and couldn't ever cool the room when it was set at 65 degrees. We had rented 3 rooms and two of those rooms had live roaches running along the baseboards. Not good.
The front-desk person did not have a clue how to divide up the final bill between two credit cards. She said that nobody told her how to do it.
However, our major complaint about this hotel is the location next to I-45 and due to the obviously poor insulation, it was very difficult to sleep at all because of the freeway traffic. Not to mention the nearby train who laid on their whistle at 1:00 a.m. You can hear everything going on in the room next to you and I mean EVERYTHING, including toilets flushing, hair dryers running, etc. Of course, you can hear the folks in the hall - either talking loud or running up and down the hall. I guess manners just aren't as important as they used to be.
Anyway, this hotel is at Exit 231.....I think I'll try a location at Exit 229 next time and a little further from the freeway. I'm just lucky that my friends were forgiving for me picking this place.
If you have to stay here, ask for a room facing away from I-45.
