“Lovely Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

My family and I just returned from a 3 night stay at Frio Country Resort. My husband, myself, and our 8 year old son were all sad to leave. We were there in the off season (February) and had a very relaxing time. You need to bring your supplies as the "convenience stores" nearby are terribly over priced. Each cabin has a grill and fireplace. The cabins were so much nicer than I expected from the photos.

Garner State Park is just a few minutes up the road and I'm sure the river is fantastic during the summer. We loved our time there and will definitely be back.

Room Tip: You'll need to bring a dvd player, plenty of board games, and other activities to keep children...

We first went to Frio Country Resort with friends that rented Beach Club cabin 6 every July. We fell in love with the river and the resort. The grounds are well kept and the owners/employees are nice and pleasant to deal with. We are going back in June and we're staying in cabin 20. For my family, going to the Frio River is the best vacation (okay, Disney was pretty cool too) is our home away from home. Also, my husband proposed to me on the Frio River, so this place is very special to us.

Room Tip: If you have never rented a cabin here before, do all your research on line first, pick 3 or 4 cabins...

Had a living social voucher for 1 night stay with golf given to us as a present whilst staying with my daughter in San Antonio. What a great gift. We had a beach club cabin overlooking the river, so beautiful and peaceful - wanted to stay longer. The cabin was well equipped and had everything you could wish for.
The golf course was excellent and we received a very friendly greeting in the pro shop.
Next time we are in San Antonio we will certainly pay another visit to the Frio country resort.

The cabin is spacious and inviting. Had everything you needed including washer and dryer. Breathtaking view of the Frio River from the Beach Club cabins 1-4. Check in staff was extremely helpful with suggestions for dinner and activities. Golf course was challenging and the greens were true! We even saw deer while golfing.

Frio Country was wonderful! We went with family and friends and had a great weekend! The people were nice, the food at the restaurant was wonderufl, and there was great live music playing at the House Pasture, and a great playground for the kids to play on! It was a little too cold to get in the river at the time in the Fall, but the Frio River looked so pretty and we can't wait to go back this summer to float the river!!
