“Excellent B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

We stayed at Stone Green Farm for one night to attend a wedding at a venue nearby. Caroline greeted us with a pot of tea and yummy cakes. The B&B is absolutely gorgeous inside. We stayed in the Pluto Room which was beautifully decorated with lovely original features. Breakfast was top notch - everything you could wish for when feeling a little worse for wear! We had a lovely morning in the sun in the massive garden. Highly recommend Stone Green Farm.

Many thanks for your kind words - we find a slice of freshly made cake and tea in bone china usually does the trick for most guests!! A cooked breakfast usually seems to hit the spot the morning after too! Recipes available!! We are delighted that you managed to enjoy the garden over a sunny weekend. Many guests with children like to be able to have a run around and bounce on the trampoline. Kind regards Caroline & Geoffrey

My first visit to Kent and I couldn't have found a better place to stay. Stone Green Farm is a delightful country farm house with a truly home from home feel. From the moment I arrived the welcome was warm and friendly. The bedroom was a delight and very comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was magnificent. The use of local produce added so much to the whole experience of staying in this lovely rural area. No wonder the breakfast won an award for excellence. Caroline and Geoffrey were perfect hosts and we were first naming in no time. Every attention to detail made my stay one that I shall always remember.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stone Green Farm to anyone thinking of visiting the Romney Marsh area of Kent. I only hope it isn't too long before I am down that way again.
My visit was 'just perfect'.

Stephen, it was a great pleasure having you stay with us at SGFand delighted we gave a good impression of Kent. We thoroughly enjoyed having the chance to chat about many things musical after your dinner at The Farriers. The rest of your stay in Kent seemed to be equally successful and we hope it will lead to you returning to Mersham again sometime. We pride ourselves on our breakfasts using as many local items as possible so thank you for your kind words. With kind regards Caroline & Geoffrey

Absolutely wonderful stay at Stone Green Farm. From a fantastically renovated historic farm house to beautifully decorated rooms, from delicious tea time treats to a cozy fireplace (lit up for us on arrival), from a walk down the village to a wonderful dinner in the local pub (of which 100 residents are stakeholders), and from a great night's sleep to the best cooked breakfast ever sampled. It was all there and we could not have wished for more. Highly recommended.

In February, I stayed at Stone Green Farm for the third time and once again, it was just perfect. Caroline and Geoffrey gave me a warm welcome with a log fire in the guest lounge and a lovely cuppa tea. The farm house is beautifully decorated throughout and makes you feel like coming home. The attention for every single detail is amazing - this is the perfect place to relax! The farm has its own water treatment system and is surrounded by a huge garden with a pond as well as the possibility to walk through the enclosed woods. And if you enjoyed your first award winning breakfast with products from nearby farms then you start planning your next visit already. And that's exactly what I'm going to do!

Room Tip: Whichever room you choose, you won't be disapointed. My favourite room is right under the roof...

Thank you for your kind words! We are delighted you have returned safely to Germany after your epic journey around England and across Europe and are safely settled into your home again. We look forward to meeting you again later this year with your mother if your plans work out. Cakes and a cup of tea will always be ready! Regards from Caroline and Geoffrey

We have had the pleasure of staying at Stone Green Farm twice and both times have been utterly perfect. The farm itself is situated in an easy-to-locate, but picturesquely rural village just near Ashford in Kent. Caroline and Geoffrey are remarkably welcoming hosts and truly made us feel like we were staying with friends, not anonymous B&B custodians. The room in which we stayed was a charming character country bedroom, overlooking fields with a capacious and modern en-suite. For all this alone, Stone Green Farm would be worth recommending, but the breakfast the next day is worth a commendation of its own. Caroline and Geoffrey have evidently eschewed the temptation to cut costs on any of the ingredients and the result is a delicious start to your day. We will have no hesitation in returning.

We spent only 1 night at Stone Green in Feb this year on our way to Paris. From the moment we arrived (at an uncivilised hour I must admit), nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Caroline and Geoffrey. The sitting room was warm and inviting and our room ready for us to freshen up after our long journey. We stayed in the upstairs Family room with our 18month old daughter, which was roomy and beautifully laid out. After a nice lunch at the pub we had the BEST nights rest in our lovely comfortable bed. Breakfast the next morning was delicious with lots of nice touches from Caroline. We were made to feel very "at home" and can not wait to get back one day, perhaps for a longer stay.

This was our first visit to Stone Green Farm and it certainly won't be our last. We arrived in the snow after a long journey from Switzerland and were greeted by Caroline & Geoffrey and a wonderful log fire. Caroline made us a welcome pot of tea and two huge slices of chocolate cake which certainly helped to revive us! The room (Pluto) was beautiful and cosy and the huge bath was a great way to relax after a long drive! The bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept like logs. Dinner was a tasty shepherd's pie and treacle pudding ....both delicious. However, the highlight of the trip was undoubtedly meeting Charlie (son) and Sky (his Harris Hawk). We really enjoyed talking to Charlie about how he had become a trained handler and we even got to stroke Sky. What a treat! The breakfast was so substantial and delicious that we didn't need to eat again until the evening when we finally arrived home. A real home from home and a delightful family and house. We will certainly be going back and look forward to visiting the wood next time.

Room Tip: Pluto is the best room from if you like a double bed and a large bath instead of shower. It is also...
