5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013 via mobile

We came for graduation and after sight seeing & swimming, we discovered that we only got 3 channels on our tv. The front desk sent Derek O. up to check it out. Turns out there was a bad cable in the wall coming from the room above. He was sweet, apologetic & very accommodating to our needs. He gave us 4 breakfast buffet vouchers and found diet soda for my mom.

I've really come to hate it when I"m told at check in that I've been upgraded to a suite due to status , because I've typically found that the suites just aren't in the same condition or up to the same standards as regular rooms. This trip was no exception.

First, I had to make a trip back to the front desk because they wrote the wrong number on my key packet, so I was trying to get in the wrong room.

When I was finally able to make it inside, it's like the room hadn't been touched for weeks (or longer). Most obviously, it was hotter than blazes! Even though it was August in TX, the AC wasn't on. The AC cover was torn off the wall and lying on the floor, the furniture was dusty, the carpet stained and filthy. Even the note pad (which only had one sheet of paper) looked like it had been previously used as a coaster. The coffee dispenser didn't work...it would only brew 1/4 cup at a time. In the bathroom, there were large pieces of debris under the sink that would easily have been swept up if any attempt had been made to sweep.

Not impressed, the Hamptons I"d stayed in on the two previous nights were much better/cleaner/nicer properties. Will probably stay elsewhere next time.

Our experience on this hotel was not good. Needs work. Rooms smell, could not get TV working. Staff is workin hard with what they have and were very kind Hu the place is a wreck. Don't know how they keep the Hilton banner.

Everything about our trip from the bereavement rate and getting us adjoining rooms with friends to help with sleeping arrangements to greeting us and having clean rooms and toilet unclogged to good beds was wonderful. It was especially nice to have a small frig in the room as I take medicines that need refrigeration and we didn't even have to ask, this was part of the regular room. Since we were there for a funeral, my mom's, we didn't really use any of the amenities of the hotel except to go in the hot tub once. The only bad, horrible thing was following up to try to retrieve two very important items that were left in our room as we were in a hurry to get to the funeral and had to check out the morning before the funeral at 10. The housekeeping personnel didn't return my four phone calls and never did find my phone charger that was plugged in by the desk. They did locate my one shoe that was left, but not the charger. Now I'm having to go buy a pay by the minute phone as they don't make this charger any more. WHy the hotel doesn't have a tagging system in place by room and date is beyond belief in this day and age of technology. It wouldn't take that much to have housekeeping put a tag with a room number and the date on it and to put those I a log system and bin or binder or something. Good grief!!

Very good. I lost my major credit card in the drainage grate the evening we checked in. The next morning we asked for "engineering" assistance and a wonderful man had it fished out of the drain in a matter of minutes. How thankful I am!!!

Stayed here on business and really loved this hotel. Have a really good restaurant and cafe that serves Starbucks coffee. Very friendly staff who gave us directions to local restaurants. Also had a large group and they took us by van across a busy street to restaurant. A plus perk for staying at Hilton. Rooms were very clean and best comfortable.
