Our daughter and her college roommate love this place. They allow us to treat them to dinner here regularly.

“Best Happy Hour in Aggieland!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012 via mobile

I'm a happy hour junkie and have found that this place is great. M-Th 5-7 cheap roles and $1.50 longnecks!! Would recommend if your stuck in the Hilton on business. Good bar tenders as well.

“A great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

The food is good and one of the best values I've seen in a Japanese Steakhouse. Even though our chef would've never passed for Japanese, he did put on probably the best show we've ever had in these types of restaurants. Atami is one of our favorites.

“Great sushi!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012 via mobile

The sushi and steak i had was excellent. The atmosphere was great. The upbeat dance music was a tad loud for me but other than that she very good. Previous reviews regarding the loose rolls is true but flavor still excellent!

“Hibachi tables galore”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2012

Haiku down the street from this enjoyed all the Japanese fare for a long time, the longest run in 30 years BUT only 2 hibachi tables reserved & served late, sometimes with confusing scheduling. Atami brought a "pool hall"'s sea of such tables, no reservations required most times. Chefs are trained to be what you've seen before at such shows, 1/2 the time you find some diners open & interesting enough with whom to socialize, sometimes hearing over the noise of a fully crowded room is tough. Sometimes waitress is happy/fast, other times she flips to the dark side.

Best item on the hibachi table has not yet returned ... the "Snap Fish" (Red Snapper) is to die for ..... everything else you've had before elsewhere, so you are getting your "fix" on the regular fare, no flair.

Sushi is good, Haiku judged slightly better due to personnel. Shusi room has bar one side & plenty of glass (fountain view) other side.

Call first to ask for the Hibachi SNAPFISH before going!
