“Typical Texas BBQ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

BBQ in this part of Texas is brisket, pork loin, spare ribs, and sausage. They smoke their own meat. Sides include the standard cole slaw, beans, and potato salad. A little better than average.

“Really good BBQ!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

When I don't feel like smoking myself, I go to C & J. Unlike some places, which only cook one or two kinds of meat, C & J does it all--brisket, ribs, sausage (multiple kinds), chicken, and pork. Sides are OK, but I don't eat BBQ for the sides. I don't understand some of the negative reviews unless they have an extremely narrow view of what BBQ is. I highly recommend C & J, especially the brisket, ribs, and jalapeno-cheese sausage.

“BEST BBQ IN TOWN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We crave this BBQ weekly! It is right down the road from us and everything is to die for. Try the ranch potatoes and the mac & cheese! They're a little expensive but soo worth it for GREAT local BBQ. Better than any chain BBQ.

“Good food, great servers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

We wanted BBQ and were just finished with our Texas A&M tour so headed here. We are not BBQ judges and were starving but this was a mile better than Coopers in New Braunfels. The servers were very helpful and even answered some college specific questions for us. I would definitely go back!

“East or West not the best”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

Where to begin, such a long laundry list.
First the positive - the place to be seen if in the construction business or if you are wanting to gain some weight, serve yourself drinks, fast cafeteria service, VERY informal.

Parking is crowded
Lunch hour can create long lines waiting to be served, seating limited in East location
Better know what you want, we move fast here
Sausage luke warm, still fatty
Ribs 1/3 tasty, 1/3 rawhide, 1/3 soft fat
Fried okra best, mashed spuds slightly above av.
Plates may bend & spill on way to table
PlasticWare, paper towels on roll, no frills seating/table
Kinda pricy for this kida food
Can't hear others talk at table - servers (with attitude) whooping it up in between servings
Worth driving another 2 minutes to Koppe Bridge (East) or Fat Burger (SouthWest)
