We were drawn to the Days Inn because they offered a reasonable weekly rate for contract workers. Trust me--it is NOT worth the small savings!! We paid for a week, and left after only 2 days, even though we had the rest of the week paid for. We couldn't bear to spend one more day at that rathole. We ended up spending a little more for a way better hotel down the road. Here was our experience: the so-called non-smoking room Reeked of cigarette smoke. The carpet was so filthy that as soon as we took off our shoes and took a few steps, our feet would literally be BLACK!! We wore flip flops at all times and even if we would just forget to put them on while walking to the bathroom, we would end up with disgusting sticky black feet! The entire room was dim, dingy, smelled of mildew and outdated. We found dead roaches laying around. The sink was all cracked and BROWN all inside, it looked like someone took a dump in the sink and it sat there for years. The bathroom was so tiny there was scarcely leg room, and the bathtub was also brown and disgusting with a broken faucet that very loudly spewed water everywhere during a shower. Everything we touched in the room felt sticky and gross. The real turning point that made us leave THAT DAY was when we discovered dried human SEMEN on one of the picture frames that was right above the bed!!!! It was very obvious what it was, as we could tell by the color, appearance, and squirt/drip pattern on the glass. There was no doubt. During our short stay we couldnt help but wonder what on earth the cleaning staff DID when they cleaned??!! Everything was sticky, filthy, and obviously had not been given any attention. The surroundings were horrible. Our only "view" was a radio tower that hovered right next to the hotel. The area was sketchy and there were often very questionable people lurking around, blocking the stairways, and wandering the sidewalks, staring at us as we walked by. The "cleaning staff" was constantly yelling across the halls at each other. The pool was disgusting. We found dead bugs, and tons of filth had floated to one side of the pool. The only perk was their decent breakfast which consisted of Belgium waffles than you make yourself, fresh fruit, pastries, and a variety of cereals, juice and milk. Other than the breakfast, my stay at the Days Inn Clute, TX was by FAR the most negative hotel experience we have ever had! I would never recommend it to anyone!!
