“Worked for Us”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

It's not the greatest hotel but for the money, it worked for us. The pool was clean and the hotel staff friendly. We came for the Public Access Beach experience and spent our daytimes there to return to the hotel for a hot shower and a clean bed. This is exactly what we got.

Room Tip: We booked a smoking king.

“Absolutely disgusting!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012 via mobile

We were drawn to the Days Inn because they offered a reasonable weekly rate for contract workers. Trust me--it is NOT worth the small savings!! We paid for a week, and left after only 2 days, even though we had the rest of the week paid for. We couldn't bear to spend one more day at that rathole. We ended up spending a little more for a way better hotel down the road. Here was our experience: the so-called non-smoking room Reeked of cigarette smoke. The carpet was so filthy that as soon as we took off our shoes and took a few steps, our feet would literally be BLACK!! We wore flip flops at all times and even if we would just forget to put them on while walking to the bathroom, we would end up with disgusting sticky black feet! The entire room was dim, dingy, smelled of mildew and outdated. We found dead roaches laying around. The sink was all cracked and BROWN all inside, it looked like someone took a dump in the sink and it sat there for years. The bathroom was so tiny there was scarcely leg room, and the bathtub was also brown and disgusting with a broken faucet that very loudly spewed water everywhere during a shower. Everything we touched in the room felt sticky and gross. The real turning point that made us leave THAT DAY was when we discovered dried human SEMEN on one of the picture frames that was right above the bed!!!! It was very obvious what it was, as we could tell by the color, appearance, and squirt/drip pattern on the glass. There was no doubt. During our short stay we couldnt help but wonder what on earth the cleaning staff DID when they cleaned??!! Everything was sticky, filthy, and obviously had not been given any attention. The surroundings were horrible. Our only "view" was a radio tower that hovered right next to the hotel. The area was sketchy and there were often very questionable people lurking around, blocking the stairways, and wandering the sidewalks, staring at us as we walked by. The "cleaning staff" was constantly yelling across the halls at each other. The pool was disgusting. We found dead bugs, and tons of filth had floated to one side of the pool. The only perk was their decent breakfast which consisted of Belgium waffles than you make yourself, fresh fruit, pastries, and a variety of cereals, juice and milk. Other than the breakfast, my stay at the Days Inn Clute, TX was by FAR the most negative hotel experience we have ever had! I would never recommend it to anyone!!

“Cheap rate, old hotel, needs renovations bad!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012 via mobile

This hotel was good in the sense that I needed a bed for 6 hours arriving late and going fishing early the next morning. The bed was fine for that. Other than that, I would not take my family or friends there or stay more than 1 night. Not the fault of the staff at all, they were nice. The owners just need to sink some $$ into this place for upgrades to make it average.

“Cheap rooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

We chose a Days Inn for the good brand name. This hotel did not live up to the franchise reputation.

Positives: the location is easily accessible, the beds are reasonably comfortable, and the rooms are cheap.

Negatives: the community garbage can outside is overflowing, the internet connection is mediocre, the room badly needs to be refurbished, the fridge appears to be older than I am, the freezer section of the fridge is iced over, the water tastes horrible, the shower curtain was mildewed, the smoke detector was dangling from the ceiling, the hangers are rusty, and even though we were told that the room was non-smoking it bore the strong odors of cigarettes and unavailing efforts to cover the strong odor of cigarettes. In general, it felt much more like a motel than a hotel.

I would not stay here again unless all other options were exhausted.

“NEVER EVER AGAIN !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2011

this is the 3rd year we have stayed here and gets worse and worse EVERY YEAR BUT this was the last as was terriable ..Had booked three rooms and ironically one was the same as last year ..Funny as we had put a tape on the wall with the date behind the nasty dusty dirty bed and YES in deed it was still there this year ,,YES one year later and evidently was NEVER cleaned behind the bed !!! Plus the lock was never fixed is easier to sldie a credit card down latch then to use the non working hotel key cards 118
Another room had MOLD growing on the refrigerator door and the smell of mold in the room and the roaches free loading in the room plus the fact the tub faucet would NOT turn completely off made this a down right NASTY room 106
Last room had mold smell and a toilet with a broken chain ..so every tiem you had to flush you had to use your hand to repair the water flow int eh tank not fun at 3 am !! also had a door which appeared to have beenkicked in a few times thus lock was crooked and shower continually dripped .. ! 105
ALso two of these rooms had electrical problems as wires were running through the walls and the sockets emmitted sparks when phone charger s were plugged in '
NOPE lesson learned cheap is not always GOOD !!!!

Room Tip: don't believe there are any BEST rooms !! at least not 117,118,106 or 105
