“Nice small-town surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

Look out for this place or you will breeze right past it. I was hungry at just the right moment. After entering the establishment, I noticed the atmosphere is quite unassuming...typically a good sign of hidden gems in regard to food. In short, the food was great (prime rib sandwich), the wait was only ten minutes, the price was fair, and the staff was pleasurable. The gentleman who prepared my food took the time to come tell me "to enjoy my food.". All in all, a great little find.

“Worth the drive, no matter how far the drive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

This place looks like any other rinky dink roadside diner and it IS sticky, as others have noted but the food is amazing. I book a lot of miles all over the country and this is my favorite stop, hands down. The barbecue is rich, dark, meaty (not fatty), and succulent. They wanted to have a booth at the Texas state fair, or world's fair or some fair. Anyway, they had to compete to get a spot by offering something unusual. Only novel foods could be sold. They came up with pulled pork "egg rolls" and they are amazing. So are the homemade desserts, they even make their own icecream. And the place never seems dirty to me, just sticky from the day's barbecue sauce so I am not shy and grab a rag and wipe down my table and condiments.

“Gotta have the homemade raspberry cobbler and ice cream”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2012

A great stop when travelling through this part of Texas. This is strictly for the hardcore BBQ enthusiast. If you blink you'll miss Chillicothe all together. An owner owned and operated restaurant serving homestyle portions of some great traditional BBQ and if you do get a chance to stop be sure and have the homemade ice cream and raspberry cobbler. Tommy Love is the owner if you meet him be sure to say "Scooter Bill" told you to stop by one of Chillicothe's and Texas' most notable western artist. Price's are reasonable for being in the middle of nowhere... definitely a travelers experience.

“Classic small town Tx food- YUM!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2011

Our family ordered brisket, catfish and chicken tenders- all were wonderful! Tastes like a relative cooked for you!
Wait staff friendly and very attentive. Small, dark and somewhat sticky, but the foodand service made up for those imperfections.

“Enjoyed this bbq”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2010

I had the chopped beef and it was very good. They have some kind of appetizer that was like brisket taquitos but we weren't crazy about those. We'll stop there again.
