This was my first official scrapbook retreat at a bed and breakfast. I enjoyed every moment. Paul, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. He is such a nice man, and he is very funny. However, when it was time to start scrapping, he got to cooking. Our small group had complete privacy in the cottage until it was time to go next door to eat one of Paul's delicious home cooked meals. We had 5 meals. Friday was a scrumptious BBQ feast complete with the richest banana pudding. Saturday, we woke to 2 kinds of homemade quiche, biscuits and gravy and of course there was a nice continental breakfast available early both morning as well. Lunch was another homemade treat of soup and salad. The hot fudged brownie bottom pie was the icing on the the cake! Saturday night we had a homemade cheese and chicken enchilada dinner with peach cobbler to die for as dessert!! Sunday morning, we had sausage, eggs and you could make a yummy Belgian waffle.
Our cottage was a nice, clean, new model modular home with four bedrooms and 2 baths. The master has a lovely garden tub for a relaxing bubble bath break from scrap booking. Each girl had a 6 foot table, and because our group was small, we had a couple extra tables....what a treat!
Vickie, Paul's wife, is a talented massage therapist that offers on site magical massages. She offers everything from Swedish massages to deep tissue and hot stone massages. If you are on a tight time schedule, she even offers chair massages.
If you go on the first weekend of the month, you may also take a break and shop at the famous First Monday Trades Days a short drive away.
